"Meteorite is closing! Meteorite is closing! It's Meteorite! Meteorite by half a length! What a finish as she collects her maiden victory!"

You know?
I kept waiting.
I kept waiting for the catch. The review. The disqualification.
Only a few minutes later did I realize it wasn't coming.

I'M RUNNING IN THE TWINKLE SERIES BAYBEE
Things I am learning from Tracen Summer Camp:
I actually really like beach volleyball?
I am really sorry for whoever I concussed with a spike
The problem with making your uma oc a dirt specialist is that it's hard to figure out rivalries since most of the game's dirt specialists aren't on global yet so I know basically nothing about them :/
@official-tracen-security
Well. Its been a little while since I did this. Let's see if ive still got the spark.
So then, Meteorite, that rarest of types, an Uma who specialised in field athletics before making the translation to the track.
There is such power in you, just looking at you i see a coiled spring. But not wild and untamed power. Focused and Precise. You walk the walk and can back up your surety with action. You know, I think I like you.
For you then, something that leans into your specialties. Did you ever do Javelin in your field days? If so, then those skills will serve you well with this
*meteorite is handed an oddly shaped spear. Its wooden haft is only about half the length of the weapon, the remaining made up of a thin pole of Iron topped with a pyramid shaped head*
The Pilum is an interesting polearm. At its core it is a Spear and can be used as such, but that was not its main use case. The Pilum was designed to be Thrown as precursor to a charge, meaning it fits into that most intriguing category of War Javelins. Its a strange piece, but undoubtedly effective, as it was on the back of weapons like this that Rome conquered all before them from the dusts of Anatolia to the fields of Iberia.
The trick, of course, is not just knowing how to throw it but when. When to use it as a Spear and when to let it fly.
It is a difficult one to use. But I trust you shall use it well.
-Polly, formerly Polearm Anon
I got... a polearm???
It's true... I really do belong at Tracen...
Thank you so much!!!
Oh nice; the school website finally got my profile in!
...
wait
how do they know this much about me
Posting my OC's stat block again because I was thinking about her in the context of the world and I came to a horrifying conclusion
Naturally, coming to Tracen as a junior, she realizes there's a lot of very strong runners here that are her seniors, and a lot she could potentially learn. However, she'd want to stick with what's already working for her, and will admit that her skill set is fairly unorthodox. Most runners here won't touch dirt, and even the ones that do tend to be sprinters or front-runners or both.
The good news is, there is a match! There is an uma renowned for her on-track ability that has affinity for dirt tracks, medium distances, and late/end pace strategies, someone who, on paper, could truly be an ideal mentor.
The bad news is
Congratulations, Meteorite. It's good to see another successful debut in my generation, I believe we are still some of the first to debut! - @unihemispherical
Yeah! It feels great, honestly. I didn't expect it to take this long, but now that I did? It's such a weight off my chest! I feel like I can do anything now!
But right now?
I'm getting yakisoba from this stand by the beach :D
