osment had fallen because of avery just the week prior to the skyscraper's opening. he thought the bishop's hands meant that he himself was going to fall when they spoke at the manor, the repetitive "falling. fallen. fall," a nod to osment's status as an angel at the time. seeing avery at his mercy, the man's life depending on him, he believed then that it was his duty to banish the world of avery's sin, to make avery fall just as he did. ...or something like that teehee ;P
