Hello world and all who inhabit it! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*.✧ Happy Sunday morning everyone! Or afternoon. Or I don't know because I don't know the time difference in your homes, but here we are! How is everyone? Did you sleep well? Have you had a good day?
Well, I hope so, because today I've come to you with a new OC. ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧. Which I honestly didn't think I'd finish so quickly, but I'm always surprised. XD I literally finished it last night, but then it was my bedtime and I had to go to bed. But we still got a morning post! Which is special, thanks to this precious little guy we have here because—YES, THIS IS HIM. THIS IS BERRY AND JD'S BABY FROM Onyx AU!!!! (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻
My kids finally have a baby, even if it's not in the canon universe of Older Sister AU (though I've been thinking about doing something about it, but not yet). And you're probably wondering why he looks so strange. ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ Believe me, his design isn't really that improvised—well, yes, because I always improvise, but everything had a basic goal that I based it on, and I really liked the result, so I'm happy. He's truly an adorable kid. (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
…And chaotic. (≧▽≦) And yes, hold on tight, because this precious baby has some lore. So be quiet and pay attention, because a lesson is coming!
★Full name: Perry Lake Jewels
★Nicknames: Per, boy, dear, baby, son, nephew, kid, helmet, crazy brat, hardhead, junior.
★Troll Type: Pop Troll, Treasure troll
★Age: 12-13 years old (I was going to make him a little older, but it occurred to me that pre-adolescence is a pretty good age for this kid. XD Also, this would be his age in Trolls 3, but for reference)
★Current job: Being a menace to himself and his own family. :) Oh, and not doing badly on his exams. Both academic and medical.
★Hobbies: Cooking, photography, many things that are hard to categorize (a mix of vandalism and many bad ideas)
★Story: Born from a microscopic probability in one of the timelines of Onyx AU, a sub-branch of Older Sister AU, Perry is the biological son of Berry and JD. His egg appeared a few weeks after an encounter that is still very confusing for his parents, but he is no less loved for it. JD was the one who carried it in his hair, and it hatched immediately after JD was pushed and dropped the egg (and yes, the one who pushed him almost died at Berry's hands), but the baby was fine when the shell broke, so all's well. (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧. Its birth was so sudden, yet its appearance so wonderful, that it finally helped Berry regain some of her color, and since then, the three of them have been a happy family along with Branch, Rosiepuff, and Poppy, albeit with a rather chaotic start.
★Personality: Perry is, simply put, an abstract work of art. Both physically and psychologically. It's usually difficult to know what he's thinking and what he'll do next, as he's a very hyperactive, clownish, and creative child. He loves to make a scene and tell jokes, as well as pull pranks that usually end with almost illegal or dangerous consequences for himself or others. He shares the same brain cell as his dad from the day he was born, and they're both equally stupid. :V However, Perry is a very sweet and affectionate boy who loves all the members of his family (the ones he knows, at least). He loves wearing his helmet everywhere and on every occasion, and he loves his mom (Berry) very much. He's also the kind of kid who might eat rocks, smash into a wall just because he felt like it, and stick crayons up his nose.
★Illnesses/Injuries/Flaws: Perry is physically healthy and even surprisingly resilient thanks to Berry's genes, so despite the number of bumps and bruises he gets, he usually comes out unscathed. The only notable things are genetic, like his useless hair, inherited from his mother, and his unusual skin tone. It's not that Perry is sick or has been injured; it's just his natural skin. For some reason yet to be identified, some parts of his body have darker patches, as if Perry had a rash, but they're actually harmless. Doctors believe it's some kind of color mutation, like what sometimes happens with Trolls' hair, but applied to the skin. Again, it's completely harmless and doesn't mean the child is sick, so there's no need to worry.
And well, that's all I can summarize here. XD Obviously, I have more to say, but I suppose I'll talk about it if you ask me or if I feel like drawing the child again. Speaking more about his design, as you can see, this child looks a lot like Berry, although being male, he's not exactly the same as her. In fact, in Berry's genetic line, it's quite common for the firstborn to be a girl, she will bear a strong physical resemblance to her mother as she grows up. While traits like colors or certain details come from the father. But in this case, since Perry is a boy, he has more in common with JD.
If you look closely, you'll notice that, for the most part, Perry's face is very similar to Berry's. He has round features, the same ear shape (without the grayness distortion of Onyx Berry), slightly droopy eyelids, almost exactly the same nose, and the same hairstyle. In addition, he shares the same Troll subspecies, Treasure Troll, which is why he has a gem on his belly that also has the same cut and style as Berry's.
With JD, the boy is more similar in body type. He is a short boy with a broad torso and somewhat short, wide limbs. He has a smile similar to JD's, with a crooked tooth sticking out on the right, and of course, Perry's colors are entirely JD's, only in more intense and vibrant shades, along with the strange mutation that gives him irregular patches of darker tones. In addition, his eyes are blue, the same shade shared by all the members of Brozone.
Continuing with his colors, you might be wondering again why his skin is like that. XD Well, that's because Perry is based on the Porcelain Berry, which is a type of ornamental plant whose fruit, a berry, isn't edible… well, yes and no. You can eat it, but it doesn't have a good texture or flavor, and it's also quite poisonous. However, in some countries, like China, it's used as a natural remedy.

As you can see, the berries are quite colorful. XD They can come in colors like pink, purple, blue, and green, and they have these little spots on them, so I did my best to emulate that on Perry's skin. My intention was to make it look like a kind of vitiligo, but instead of desaturation in his skin pigmentation, there's oversaturation. I don't know if there's a more exact real-life equivalent for oversaturation of skin pigmentation, but that would be my main inspiration. Also, the name "Perry" comes from Porcelain Berry, that is, P-erry. It's Berry but with the "P" from Porcelain. (≧▽≦)
Now let's talk about Perry's clothes. As you can see, I made him in three styles. Two casual ones and a third one cosplaying as Brozone because I thought it would be cute. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.). In cosplay, Perry obviously wears the same clothes as JD, which makes his resemblance to the former leader of Brozone even stronger. Then we have the two casual styles. Casual 1 is his usual outfit, which looks very similar to my standard JD design and the canon design, with pants, a vest, and gloves. The kid also wears a red hug bracelet like Berry's hair, and a helmet. The helmet is the equivalent of JD's goggles. The kid almost never takes it off and likes to walk around with it on at all times. To summarize, his obsession with his helmet is similar to the obsession the character Carlos had with his own helmet in the Big Time Rush series. XD
And then we have Casual 2, which is an alternate outfit because I wasn't sure how to dress Perry at first, so I gave him a more normal style. Basically, this is what he wears when he "has to behave." That is, when he can't be his usual crazy, goofy kid and has to resist his idiotic impulses for a few hours. Usually when he goes to Grandma Rosiepuff's for dinner. XD
Anyway, that's all for now! As I said, I have more stuff about the character, but since I don't know how to fit it all in here, I'll let you ask away and I'll answer.
