CRIMSON'S CONFIDENCE

To instill a sense of bold, unwavering confidence within yourself. Inspired by Crimson Dawn from A Novel WIP by Crimson Songbird.

What You Will Need:

A favorite hair accessory

A mirror of any size

A scrap of paper and a writing utensil

A red candle of any shape or size

Matches or a lighter

💕 Settle in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed or distracted. Get into a comfortable position with all the spell components within reach. 

💕 Carefully light the candle and set it in a safe place where it won’t get knocked over and away from any flammable objects. 

💕 Take a moment to gaze at the candle. Watch as the flame burns brightly. The color red is an emotionally intense color that garners attention. It represents ambition, love, and sexuality. The flame represents passion, energy, and motivation.  

💕 As you look into the flame, think of a time you truly felt good about yourself. Maybe you aced a test or scored a date. Maybe you got a genuine compliment that made your day or you accomplished a difficult goal. Regardless of the source, let this energy be your fuel. Let it fill your chest with confidence.

💕 Now grab the scrap of paper and draw a skull. (Please note that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Your best is good enough.) This serves as a representation of Crimson’s iconic skull hair pin.

💕 Set the hair accessory on the skull drawing and place your dominant hand over the two. This establishes your connection with Crimson.

💕 Look into the mirror and say, “With (and without) this hair accessory, I am admirable and I am attractive. Crimson's confidence flows through me just as naturally as blood flows through my veins.” Allow that confident energy to travel through your body and channel it into the hair accessory. Repeat the incantation as many times as needed.

💕 Remove your hand from the accessory once you feel the accessory is full of Crimson’s confidence. This means the spell is complete.

💕 Extinguish the candle and clean up your space.

JAREN'S JOURNEY

To help you find your calling in life. Inspired by Jaren Rakdoson from Blood and Songbirds by Jasper (@jasper-the-menace).

What You Will Need:

1 red candle, any size 

Matches or a lighter

4 rocks, any size, shape, or color

💎 Settle in a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed or distracted. Ensure that all your spell ingredients are within reach and that you are not near any flammable objects.

💎 Arrange the four rocks in a diamond shape on a safe, nonflammable surface, then place the candle in the center. Carefully light the red candle.

💎 Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, then exhale for 4 seconds. Repeat until your breathing is calm and even.

💎 Gaze into the candle and think of a time you were forced down a path that did not resonate with you. Perhaps a family member or mentor guided you down a path of their choosing, not giving you much say in the path you walked. Oftentimes the path we are most called to is not the one others would have chosen for us. 

💎 Now think of how Jaren often acts impulsively, diving into many situations without much thought. Is he acting out of stupidity? Or is he acting out his true calling in life? Many times the act that we do impulsively is the one that brings us the most fulfillment; it is often the act that both empowers and inspires us. Have you ever acted impulsively to accomplish a certain goal of your own choosing? Did you feel fulfilled after it was completed? 

💎 Remember that your calling in life does not have to be a grandiose one. Jaren may be out there literally saving lives and fighting wars across different planes, but that doesn’t mean you have to be doing the same. Sometimes our life’s calling is to turn a passion or hobby into a career. Or to help others in our own unique way. 

💎 Now pick a rock in the diamond that calls to you most. Place your dominant hand over the rock while being mindful of the lit candle in the center. Focus your desire to find your true calling on the rock and channel that powerful energy into it. 

💎 Once you feel the rock is full, remove the rock from its place in the diamond and hold it to your chest. Repeat the following, “Just as the rocks guide and protect Jaren during his journey, allow this rock to do the same for me. Should I ever stray from my own life’s path, this rock shall guide me back.”

💎 Extinguish the candle and clean up your space. The spell is now complete. Carry the rock with you whenever you need a compass to find your way back to your calling.

MATHIAS' MUSIC

To help you find your voice and use it with confidence. Inspired by Mathias Markov from Blood and Songbirds by Jasper (@jasper-the-menace).

What You Will Need:

1 small drawstring pouch, any color

1 white feather, small

1 clear quartz, small

1 sodalite, small

A song that makes you feel confident

A device that can play music

🎶 Settle in a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed or distracted. Ensure that all your spell ingredients are within reach.

🎶 Think of a time where you couldn’t find or use your voice. Mathias spent years held captive and unable to speak freely. His voice was muted by those who kept him prisoner. Was your voice also muted by another? Were you unable to speak freely?

🎶 First, grab the sodalite crystal and place it in the pouch. Blue is an important color for Mathias as it represents one of his magical colors. This particular blue crystal helps to enhance communication and boost confidence.  

🎶 Then grab the clear quartz crystal and place it in the pouch. This crystal helps amplify the power of other crystals and will also be used to amplify your voice.

🎶 Next, obtain the device that plays music. Music is important to Mathias as a Songbird and it is one of his key magical abilities. You will be using this song to connect to Mathias. Turn on the song that makes you feel confident. It is recommended to put the song on repeat for this next part.

🎶 Now grab the white feather with your dominant hand. White is an important color for Mathias as it is another of his magical colors. The feather represents the connection to his late sister, who was an Archangel for humanity. 

🎶 Hold the feather close to your chest. Close your eyes and let the music flow through you. Allow it to fill you with confident energy. Then, just as Mathias uses song in his magic, you will be using this song in yours. Sing or hum to the feather and allow that confident energy to flow from your chest to the feather. Repeat the song as many times as needed until you feel the feather is full.

🎶 Now place the feather in the pouch and tie it closed. Hold the pouch close and say, “With the blood pulsing through my veins and the power of song, this pouch will help me find my voice and use it with newfound confidence.”

🎶 The spell is now complete. Clean up your space and remember to carry the pouch whenever you need to find or use your voice.

SHADOW'S SHIELD

To call upon Shadow to shield you from unwanted energy, negativity, and harm. Inspired by Shadow from Novel WIP by Crimson Songbird.

What You Will Need:

A small drawstring pouch, any color

1 black feather, small

1 amethyst crystal or a few crystal chips

1 moon charm, any phase

A few dried rose petals, any color

🛡️ Settle into a quiet place where you will not be disturbed or distracted. Get into a comfortable position with all the spell components within reach. 

🛡️ Start by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths. Inhale for 6 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, then exhale for 6 seconds. Repeat until your breathing is calm and even. Allow your muscles to unclench and relax as you breathe.

🛡️ Now open your eyes and grab the amethyst crystal or crystal chips. The color of the crystal represents the beautiful purple of Shadow’s eyes. The amethyst itself helps to grant both peace and serenity. Place the amethyst in the pouch.

🛡️ Grab the moon charm next. This represents Shadow’s connection to the moon and serves as a reminder that he will protect you no matter what phase the moon is in. The moon symbolizes that change is inevitable, but Shadow will offer his shield no matter what changes lie ahead. Put the charm in the pouch. 

🛡️ Now grab the black feather. The color of the feather represents many things. First, it is the color of Shadow’s wings. He will use those wings to propel you forward in life and also to shelter you from future storms. Second, black is a color of protection. It will help block any negativity that may come your way. Now place the feather inside the pouch. 

🛡️ Obtain a pinch of dried rose petals. These petals represent passion and devotion. When you call upon Shadow’s Shield, he is devoted to keeping you safe from harm. He performs his duties with great passion and diligence. Now sprinkle the rose petals into the pouch and tie it off.

🛡️ Hold the pouch over your heart and say, “Just as Shadow dutifully protects Crimson from harm, his shield shall do the same for me. No unwanted energy, negativity, or harm shall come my way while under his watchful gaze.”

🛡️ The spell is now complete. Clean up your space and remember to carry the pouch with you when you need Shadow’s protection.

EMI'S ENCHANTMENT

To embody the strength, courage, and willpower needed to complete a difficult task. Inspired by Emi Tsukino from the Naruto series.

What You Will Need:

Hair brush or comb

Mirror, any size

☪︎ Settle in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed or distracted. Get into a comfortable position with all the spell components within reach. 

☪︎ Close your eyes and think of the task at hand. Why is it so important? Who are you completing the task for? What would it mean to succeed? What would it mean to fail?

☪︎ Grab the hair brush (or comb) with your dominant hand and hold it close to your chest. Think of an animal that embodies strength, one that you have a connection with. What makes them strong? What sort of connection do you have with this animal? Let the strength of the animal course through you and into the brush. 

☪︎ Next, think of someone you truly admire that repeatedly demonstrates courage. This person can be real or fictional. What makes them so courageous? Why do you admire them as much as you do? Allow their courage to pulse through your veins and flow into the brush. 

☪︎ Now think of a time you had the willpower to successfully complete a difficult task. What was the task? Why was it difficult? How did you feel after it was completed? Now focus on how capable you felt after it was done. Allow that power, and that pride, to fill up your body and the brush completely. 

☪︎ Once the brush is full of strength, courage, and willpower, set up the mirror so that you can gaze at your reflection.

☪︎ Slowly begin to brush (or comb) your hair as you say, “I am strong like [insert animal]. I am courageous like [insert character name]. I have the willpower to overcome anything that gets in my way.” Repeat as you continue to slowly and carefully brush through your hair. 

☪︎ After you have brushed or combed through all of your hair, the spell is complete. 

☪︎ Clean up your space and go take on that difficult task!
