5: How would your OC generally react to someone being verbally abusive towards them for no apparent reason?
He'd force a smile, and let the offender carry on with his or her slander. Perhaps ask them if they have finished when there's a long enough pause in their abuse to imply as much. He may toss a snide remark back; he may not. But Ira will remember the exchange. He tends to keep a mental tally on those who decidedly wrong him. He'll hold on to it, and let it fester, and when opportunity allows, he'll get his payback.
6: Does your OC have a realistic image of their own intelligence?
He does. He likes to peacock about as if he's a delusional, arrogant prick, but he's well aware of his mental proficiency as well as his limitations and shortcomings.
7: Does your OC have any irrational phobias?
Horses.
8: How is/was your OC’s relationship with their parents?
Ira doesn't remember much of his mother. He remembers her eyes, and her voice, vaguely. He remembers a melody she sang to him, and words whose meaning are lost on him. She's been dead for a long time now - he remembers being ashamed of her.
His father, on the other hand, he grew up idolizing, though he would never truly be recognized as the man's son. Ira would do anything to make him proud; an almost impossible task. He and his father are distant and have been for quite some time. Ira still finds himself intimidated by his father, and has difficulty even considering any manner of confrontation with him.
