The confession. (My V & Thorn, my nomad OC)
You know I always imagine Thorn having jack Black's voice
LOL Yes, that would be funny XD And I can easily imagine him with his voice
(Peaches, anyone? Pff)
BEAR WIZARD!!! PLEASE TELL ME ALL ABOUT BEAR WIZARD 🐻🔮
FUCK YES MY BEARBO.
So we've only had one meeting for character creation for this campaign, and we'll meet up again in November. It's a short spinoff campaign set in a magical interdimensional travelling circus. Our DM is way more focused on creativity and fun rather than following the exact game mechanics so gave us free reign with our characters and backstory. To wit, this is early on and I look forward to learning more about Thorn as I play.
SO, MY BEARBO THORN.
-Thorn was born not as a bear, but as a human.
-Growing up in their village wasn't the best time, and combined with a natural interest in magic, led to them at a young age seeking to learn as much as they can to get out of their crummy little home.
-So young Thorn set about learning about magic from whatever piecemeal places they could and became especially proficient at fortune telling and mild future sight - thus WIZARD CLASS.
-They then learned about said circus and that there were beings that came to the circus that could grant you a wish in exchange for an offering.
-The circus came to their plain of reality at age 13, so Thorn went, sought out a tiny magical creature and did not think through their wish to "always have the strength of a bear."
-Thus Thorn was transformed into a bear and shot off, at first joyful thinking they had become a werebear and gloried in their new massive form, when realizing that the change was permanent they returned to the circus seeking the being who cursed them, but by the time the circus shifted dimensions, it was clear that creature was no longer there.
-Armed only with a piece of clothing left by the creature (a pixie or fairy from its size), Thorn decides the only thing to do is to offer themselves up for work at the circus to continue travelling with them in hopes that the being will return and will fix the wish.
-Unfortunately, the circus travels on an 8-YEAR-CYCLE.
-So we are starting 16 years later, with Thorn age 29 and having lived as a bear all this time. They work as a fortune teller. They offered to the circus management that they can just be paid a salary of food while stashing away tips from guests for when they regain their ability to become human again.
-Thorn is now a very bitter and jaded bear-person, what with 16 years at Job. What really grinds their gears is people assuming they are a trained performing dancing bear. They wear a purple cloak to try to dissuade people from this assumption (and there aren't a lot of clothes bears can easily change in and out of). This is not successful.
So yeah there is still plenty that Thorn has not yet revealed to me in play that I shall learn!

Day 7: Support
When her Captain and first mate drag themselves back from having disappeared for weeks, Thorn has some mending to do.
Thorn barely recognized Killer when he finally returned to the ship, trailing behind their Captain. They were a sight for sore eyes, but even she could feel the tension in the air as they came aboard. Nobody spoke aside from Crow, who all but dragged their captain away to look him over. But once they were gone all eyes rested on Killer. He didn’t look like the same person. Face exposed to the world and grinning wildly, shoulders shaking with barely contained laughter. From her position outside the kitchen, she could see the glances the crew were giving each other. Everyone was worried, but nobody knew what to say. They didn’t stop him as he came towards her, the safety of the kitchen the next best thing after the room he shared with Kid- a room likely occupied as Crow made sure the captain wasn’t actually as rough as he looked.
