Art fight ref sheet! This one is for my oc Crowscratch. My art fight username is CannedCards if you want to follow me there. My page is still under construction, but I'm hoping I'll have all of my character reference sheets up by the end of May!

If you have participated before tips are welcome! This is my first year doing art fight so I'm still figuring things out.

Cover contest thumbnails! When Harriertail's cover contest was announced I made these all in one evening a few days later. I ended up deciding to go with the Autumn's Wrath but I really am quite proud of all of these and wish I had time to polish up more of them.

These were the first sketches I did. Autumn's Wrath was the one I had initially envisioned. The wildfire is one of the most pivotal things that happens in my story and poor Crowscratch is one of the cats most effected by it, so on the cover she goes. In the final version I submitted to the contest I changed the composition of the background a bit. Not sure I like it as much, but the big body of shallow water made less sense for the mountains in a dry season, so I went with a stream instead.

The Endless Winter sketch (a placeholder title) was mostly an excuse to draw a pretty landscape picture I took last winter. The angry lad is Flintpaw.

The last two sketches I did because four sketches felt like the right number. I am quite happy with Summer's Omen. I wanted the background to portray it being a bit hazy and hot. Happy with how the sky came out, could have made the grasses more dry and dead looking, but the green is prettier. Main boy Meltpaw on the cover, all full of whimsy before the horrors.

The last cover I did was an alternative version of Endless Winter. I think it shows that I got it done in 30 minutes while half asleep, it is my least favorite out of the cover sketches. I like the drama, but Brightstar (Meltpaw and Flintpaw's dad) looks a bit too evil and ominous. He does bad things, but he's no supervillain. I think if I were to draw this again I would make the background a more full fight scene with lots more cats.
