today i cooked up the kinds of freaks, geeks and weirdos that would follow howler's more extremist views over abe's, the ones who weren't so easily able to adapt to a return to native naturalism, let alone be 'saved'.

mal was found on an operating table during a raid on vykkers labs, and immediately impressed howler by not only surviving the active dissection she violently interrupted, but proceeding to sew himself back up without a hitch. he has since proved himself within her ranks as a medic, butcher, and torturer - mirroring his former captors, despite his vicious vendetta against them. he doesnt speak of his life in the labs, so its uncertain how old he is, how many organs he still has, or if they're even originally his.

drill was liberated from slig barracks before the abe-howler schism. he was an indentured servant from the city, whose contract was violated by a workplace injury, over which his contractor chose to declare him legally dead rather than face a lawsuit. a mechanic savvy in the military tech of the sligs and glukkons, drill gave howler access to both the armory and dripik in exchange for dripik's medals. he initially planned on dipping and selling the medals to pay off his debt, but found himself sympathetic to howler's brand of direct action.

liberated from necrum with the rest of his peers, trip turned away from abe and took the entire mines' supply of explosives with him. while his knowledge of dynamite extends before his blindness, being made to work without ear protection has led to persistent tinnitus, and a resounding grudge against the industrialists that disabled him. howler encourages his dream of going out in a blaze of glory, and taking as many glukkons with him as possible.

slogmeat was found in a slog hut, feral and mauled beyond recognition, and its uncertain if he was intended to be a caretaker or food for the animals. his relationship with his slogs comes more from being considered one of them, rather than by any training discipline. he is at home living as an animal rather than a mudokon, which howler and her gang accept, allowing him to be the 'guard dog' and use his pack against the sligs that tortured them.

older/post-arc drill

his red streak was emotional discoloration that faded in time post-revolts. this kind of rapid change is highly dependent on genetics and age; he's probably more prone to coloration changes from environmental and psychological factors than other muds. i can imagine this makes him terrible at poker
