when ur mans is a little pathetic
Faline DeWolf is a werebear. She's seven feet tall [twelve in bear form] and started her shifter life gaining a spark of sapience as a cub, watching a poacher take her mother from her and managing to rip the mans throat out. After that she learned to survive by relying on the leylines, and the more she used them to hunt and find shelter, the more her own intellect grew and humanized her mind.
Zak DeWolf is a werewolf. He's shorter and smaller than Faline, and when she found him, he was only a wolfcub wandering where he shouldn't. She tried to track down any family he may have had, but never could. So she took care of the cub herself. As Zak followed Faline, he was also exposed to the tides of the leylines, and began developing consciousness of his own. After a few years of this, Zak learns how to shift into an anthropoid form, something Faline had never considered doing. The two practice this together and begin using these anthroforms to venture out of the woods and into society out of both curiosity and survival.
It doesn't take long for the authorities to be called on these two young kids running amok and stealing from butchers. When they're found, however, they are not punished - Faline might disagree whether its punishment or not, but Zak was happy when they were taken in at the local orphanage, hardly the first animal children to gain some level of sapience and personhood and wander into society.
Faline does not adjust as easily as Zak, but stays for him, because she promised to always protect him. Though Zak makes friends easily and enjoys becoming a person, Faline longs for the wilds and the chaos of nature, which puts her in with a rough and rowdy crowd of punk outcasts from the orphanage; more Lost Boys for her to take care of, though she'd never say it like that and she'd make you bleed somewhere for suggesting it to her face.
These outcast losers grow up together and eventually buy a dilapidated old storage building, which they fix up and refurbish into being a community house for themselves; Faline starts a tattoo shop, while their friends Alfonz and Ania plan on turning the rest of the main floor into a club, and the upstairs becomes a series of apartments for them and their friends to reside in. Zak claims the entire basement as his den, and after they've marked out what they'd reasonably need of it for storage, Zak gets his gamer wolf den.
The end up calling this place the Werehouse, though there's only the two weres involved in starting it up, because, well, the pun.
