What kind of relationship do the twins have with Ardeth's fiancee? Odessa? If I'm reading right? I just thought it's interesting because Ardeth and the twins seemed to be a Them Vs. The World team since childhood and then she comes along.
The twins are both cautious, but fair people. They were wary because Ardeth basically brought home a fiancee he just met and rescued from her own trial, but at the time they were set on the goal, and they needed Odessa for that goal.
Odessa quickly discovered that Nyle is Ardeth’s favorite - the man doesn’t exactly hide this preference, and she could see why. Nyle is sweet and kind to everyone, and he reminded Odessa of her little sister Grieta, so she instantly developed a soft spot for him too. Nyle does that to people.
Odessa and Edlin kept their distance for a while, but they’re both the only women in Blaisdale house who could really trust each other, so they eventually became confidantes. They’re both no-nonsense and practical, and Ardeth actually likes that they call him out on his bullshit.
So yep! The twins and Odessa grew to trust each other over time, and all four members of Team Ardeth are very protective of each other. :D
