auriel ft a v2 i drew over whoops
got inspired (largely by @muzzleroars) to take a shot at coming up w. my own version of the other three archangels and i got some concepts laid down already
auriel (or uriel, both are accepted) is a seraph who serves as part of the council of auriel's own volition, primarily as an enabler and source to much of their dogma. auriel knows a lot of things and its motives are generally unknown to most, but auriel isn't particularly the kindest in heaven by a long shot; it's largely logical but following its own specific logic that has warped over time since the disappearance of god. like most seraphim, auriel would previously answer directly to god himself and no other, and most would simply ignore or be hostile towards lower angels in the wake of their abandonment. after the massacre of the council, auriel's whereabouts are unknown, but it's likely that auriel was not present at the time. it's hard to kill a seraph. often humanoid but auriel's true form is that of a massive, fiery flying serpent, in usual seraph fashion (no pronouns or it/he/she)
raphael is a fallen angel who was cast out by the council in secrecy, soon after the fall of man. he was one of the few who eagerly chose to associate with the experiment that was humanity and the council decided to take advantage of that fact to accuse him of having strayed away from god. he typically roams hell, assisting the remains of humanity now that he is not barred from doing so, though hell had at some point forcefully blinded him. it.did not like being looked at by an angel, fallen or not. he's kind of a bee. michael was the one tasked with casting lucifer out of heaven and now resides frozen within treachery alongside him. it's unknown whether he is a prisoner or the warden in this situation, locked in there alongside his quarry, while gabriel has since taken up his role as commander in his prolonged absence. likely still alive but out for the count indefinitely. not one of the archangels but i think lucifer can have she/her pronouns in addition to he/him as a treat. i think it'd be neat

auriel btw. auriel's humanoid form is basically just @bedrock-to-buildheight's design for seraphim (but a little to the left?) because i adore it so much it rocks

auriel almost certainly had a role in raph's fall btw. deliberately picking off some of the other high-ranking archangels for political reasons
auriel is a manipulative fuck btw. not only is auriel a snake in terms of physical form but auriel is also a snake in personality as well. there's something wrong with that fucking guy
