"Remember when you were young? You shone like the sun."
Benjamin "Ben" Abbott, The Last of Us (x)
here be some boys... Ben (a guy Matt dated for a while) and Rob (one of Matt's closest friends)
“Anger makes you stupid, stupid gets you killed.”
For the one word prompts: 32 for Ben? :D
Cold fingers hold a lego miniature. Most of the colors are faded, and there is not much to be seen. Yet, Ben holds and looks at it like he is a scientist looking at a newly-discovered fossil; there is admiration in his eyes, a glint of fascination that isn't given to things as of late.
No one would say a piece of plastic would feel heavier than the gun hanging on his shoulder, or that it would make the man forget about the dangers of idly standing on a toy shop isle in the middle of a seemingly quiet town.
17, 30 for ben?
17. Would they rather be the protagonist, the love interest, a side character or an atagonist?
Ben is a team player. He wants his opinions to be heard, but in the end he wants whatever is best for everyone and won’t complain about it if the majority is happy. That being said, he would rather be a side character; being the protagonist means too much attention.
30. Are they an overthinker?
Absolutely, Ben will think and rethink about his decisions a million times if possible.
He hates it when they’ve planned a mission, and things don’t go according to plan on the field. Having to go with the flow and diverge from the original plan makes him uneasy because he’s not in control; because of that, he will think about plan A, B, C and even D if necessary.

13 and 46 for Ben?
13. What is your oc’s confidence like? Are they self-confident to the point of being arrogant? Are they terribly self-deprecating?
Ben’s confidence was a long time building process, and it doesn’t spread through all areas of his life. He’s very confident in combat, to the point where he feels comfortable calling others out for their own failures. Because of that not everyone is okay with patrolling with him (Ellie has gotten stressed over it a couple of times, Joel hits heads with him sometimes). However, if someone were to stop and talk to him about history, geography or anything book smart, then they can see Ben getting uncomfortable and unsure of what words to use. If his confidence is low, you can bet he’s gonna try changing topics to avoid it.
46. Does your oc lie a lot, or is the truth very important to them? What is their reaction to other people lying to them?
He thinks omitting the truth prevents worse things from happening, and that’s his mistake. Ben won’t straight up lie about something, but he may not say everything because he believes it’s not necessary - he’s gonna handle it or someone else will. Which causes a lot of stress sometimes, because people will eventually learn the full truth, and ask him why didn’t you tell me this before - and then he’s gonna simply say they didn’t have to know things right away, or they wouldn’t be able to handle it anyway.
