i'm losing it ✶
maybe a dumb question, but is collegeville only going to be sold for a limited time, or is it going to available to buy for the foreseeable future? ive been following you for a while and known about it for ages and id love to get it when possible
not dumb at all! might not have hammered this home here.
i have about 100 books left currently and no plans to reprint. unless i did another crowdfunding campaign, doing another print run would be too huge a financial gamble for me.
online sales have slowed down a lot (maybe 1 book a month) but i will be selling it at more in-person events this year as a heads up. when it's gone it's gone
I have now read through "A Town Called Collegeville" twice, once for the story and once for the art. I can tell this was a story that was honed over long ruminations and for that it'll stick with me as an impactful piece of art. I think I might get into tarot because of it lol.
i must've forgotten to answer this! tysm <3 i've only gotten more into tarot (and now astrology) since then so let me just say. try to have fun. and u don't have to take readings as gospel bc sometimes spirits don't know what they're talking about lmao

art from 2025 looking back i felt like in terms of finished works my art output was pretty sparse this year, but i keep forgetting how much of my time the Collegeville campaign took up for the first half of the year.. i'm very grateful to have been able to experiment with so many different mediums and to fall back in love with traditional comic making. every time i finish a large project it's followed by a weird limbo period where i lose my sense of self and this time was no exception but i think especially since this past month i'm starting to gain it back. i look forward to doing more of. this. reconnecting with old characters, getting to know new ones, and finding new excuses to put physical tools to physical paper.

i forgot to mention here all the new stuff i put up in my shop.. magnet, zine, shirts, prints and MORE... woah.

art from my 5-pager "Poetry Night" that i put up on patreon yesterday :)
thinkin bout my guy again... ♫
I’m sad for Roy. Is she going to be okay? 🙁
yes, she is extremely resourceful and resilient. things get better for him
i might get into Roy’s life post-Collegeville here eventually but it’s still a bit too soon for that i think. just know he gets a chance to start over and is able to be more of her authentic self
i feel like i run out of meaningful ways to respond but every message i've been sent about Collegeville means so much to me so thanks to all the sweet people who took time to let me know they appreciate this thing i made.
sharing art like that is actually pretty scary for me because i'm a pretty private person so the mostly positive response so far is very reassuring. and surprisingly the criticisms have only made me feel more assured in my own creative voice... (that my way of storytelling isn't for everyone and that's fine and ppl with expectations will always be let down in some way)
i was prompted yesterday to think in depth about what inspired the story and kind of felt everything all over again. the story came from an extremely volatile point of my life that i usually make an effort to forget. i wonder if enough time has passed that it'd be okay for me to be vulnerable and talk openly about the circumstances but at the time abstracting things through Collegeville was the best option for me. my hope has always been that in sharing this story somehow others will feel less alone. i would love for my art to be a place for collective mourning and simultaneous celebration of life, and i do feel like that's what Collegeville is.
i was definitely worried no one would "get" it, and i have to be okay with the fact that i can't really jump into anyone's mind and get a true read on what they took away from it, but i'm grateful even for the people who take time to leave me a quick "i loved this, thank you" message. love You, thank You
It was great being able to read the book today and actually have it in my hands after watching your updates for a couple years. I’m really glad you made this
thank you ;; <3
I was already having an amazing day and then my copy of your book showed up. Can’t wait to read it after work, your art is so inspirational and having the comic finally in my possession after years of anticipation is unreal. Thank you.
thank you so much, i hope you enjoyed it!
hiiii i'm about halfway through a Town Called Collegeville and i just wanted to let you know that i am LOVING it!!!!!
the color is amazing - i love the hues and textures and the way it conveys mood and atmosphere. the psychedelic scenes with roy almost swim before my eyes!!
you can really HEAR every panel - music playing, bacon sizzling, the tv on low in the background - it feels alive and buzzing.
the page composition and dramatic pacing is perfect. i love the cinemetic camera in certain scenes, especially mary's nightmares and the juxtaposition between claustrophobic close-ups and dizzying bird's-eye shots. the emotion carries between panels and you can really FEEL it.
anyway your technique is amazing and i can't wait to finish (but i'm taking my time because i want to spend more time in this world and vibessss) and i will definitely try to get as many people to borrow my copy and read it too because you deserve much more recognition for this incredible piece of work!!
thank you so much for all these thoughtful compliments ;w;
i'm really glad so much of the comic is working for you in those respects. it's great to know i can translate some of it into a tangible experience for others.
and please yes share it with your friends!
I love youuuuuuu I loved collegeville I loved your world and your characters I want to wrap rhett and roy and mary and truman and hell even cynthia and chopper into a big hug and tell they’re all little superstars to me
u are too sweet thank u <333
