Xavi'driszar, the artifacts that Nightjar wields, are directly connected to the Emerald Nightmare and Xavius himself. As a result, when he uses them, he transforms into a strange satyr-like demon <3

He can shift back and forth between his two forms, but after fully embracing the Xavi'driszar (thanks to Illidan) his "true" form remains as the satyr and he can't fully shift back into a troll.

Xavi'driszar, the Eyes of Xavius, are enchanted jewels created during the War of the Ancients, allegedly by Xavius himself. They're rather small and may not look very threatening by themselves, but they are said to imbue their wearer with the power of the Nightmare Lord, and over time corrupt and transform them into a satyr.

They were kept under guard jn secret for thousands of years, until Legion when a druid stole them, intending on using them against the Legion. This druid is now their guardian, much to the chargrim of everyone involved 💅
