Once again βοΈ I believe in puppygirl supremacy
Oh season 4 Leo my mentally ill beloved
Something 03 TMNT is teaching me is that working for the Shredder actively holds you back, because during the 3 seasons Hun was working for him the Purple Dragons were mostly just some guys. Violent guys with a hold on the streets for sure, but still just guys with bricks and chains and pipes. But then the second the Shredder was gone and Hun locked in, he turned the whole operation around. They went from breaking shop windows with bricks to performing actual complex heists. And being very successful at it too from what I'm seeing, even with the turtles interfering.
edit of an old drawing of. my sons
edgy season 4 Leo is really funny to me. poor kid is going through a lot but he's being unintentionally HILARIOUS about it
based off this post
Playing TMNT 03 episodes in the background, chilling and only mildly paying attention until suddenly I see this fucking guy and I am violently reminded I'm on season 3 and I Know What Is About To Come
misc doodles and designs from my TMNT fan iteration because im bored of whatever i've been doing
ohhhh casey jones the woman you are (drools a little)
My vision for the ideal TMNT villain dynamics is one in which Karai is fighting for her fucking life against the turtles while Shredder is busy cyberbullying the Kraang, who are aging 40 years in the span of 10 minutes having to deal with human corporate bureaucracy so their cover doesn't get blown, and then some random guy shows up in the middle of it in a monster of the week style and everyone has to drop everything they're doing to handle it before the feds get involved, because everyone here hates eachother but they collectively hate The Government even more and agree that having anything official involved in their personal beef bubble would make their whole situation 100% times worse for everyone involved.
I miss the 03 turtlesβ¦.
Far worse, in my opinion, than the famous βhe wouldnβt fucking say thatβ is βhe WOULD fucking say that, as part of his facade, but you seem to think he would mean it genuinelyβ
Se also "he DID say that and he was LYING, and somehow you didn't notice."
I'm trying really hard to watch the live action 90's TMNT movies because they sound fun and I wanna know the deeper lore but the turtle costumes are creeping me out so much I finally understand people who are afraid of animatronics and things like that πππ
I don't do "art studies," i draw "wrong" until I get an epiphany from god
I'm putting Rise episodes on in the background while I draw, but it's backfiring terribly because even though I've watched these a million times by now I keep pausing and rewinding to take screenshots because I love this show so much, which means I'm not actually getting any drawing done π
Thinking about the fact that the Foot Recruit is Rise's Casey Jones just now because the writers did something that's kinda genius. She could easily have worked as Rise's Karai given her role in the show as a member of the Foot Clan and her whole aesthetic, but in most other TMNT iterations Karai is usually tied to Leo and Casey is always tied to Raph. So putting Casey in a Karai-esque role in the one setting where Raph is technically playing Leo's usual role as leader... kinda makes sense!
I don't think this was done intentionally, since as far as I'm aware the Foot Recruit wasn't planned to be Cassandra Jones from the start and that decision was made later on during Rise's run, but it's a decision that works really well when you take Rise's dynamic into context. In my humble, non professional opinion of course
One of the many things that makes me love the Rise turtles so much is how straight up murderous they get, on accident AND on purpose, but the plot always somehow prevents them from committing actual murder. Leonardo straight up chopped Warren Stone in half in Newsworthy, he only survived because he regenerates. Raphael was going to eat the Sando brothers alive in Man vs Sewer, he only stopped because the other boys showed up. Michelangelo was 100% ready to kill the Digg girls in Pizza Pit and I firmly believe he would have if he were fighting them alone. And I don't think I need to say anything about Donatello, just look at him. In fact I'm pretty sure Donatello HAS actually inadvertently killed people while he was controlling that giant mech in the Purple Game
Raph's my favorite turtle can you tell :)
I love Rise's art style so the middle ground I found between it and mine is to keep the general shapes and silhouette the same but then add a bunch of little things on top. So here's how I'm drawing him - a little map of funky skin patterns + a very very rough scar layout for his post movie situation + his two main outfits.
I might play dress up with him more later but I'm happy with these for now <3
