Been redoing some of the designs for my ocs so here are my main guys in story :]
In order, top left to right; Nightshade, Sunset, Hammer, and Oak.
Have some slightly older art of my main WoF ocs!!!
(Click for better quality - Please don't repost or claim as your own thank you!)
1st: Dream and Oak
2nd: Dale and Dream
3rd: Omniscient, Silk, Dale, and Dream (inspired by Whiteout's family portrait!)
My first WoF ocs (Except Oak, he's newer) They accidentally are very similar to Darkstalker's family except much happier and less tragic lol. I made them before the second arc even came out and I thought it was cool that they are like the opposite of that situation :3 I also have no idea why Silk isn't named like a normal Icewing but now her lore includes her having very distant rainwing relations because of another oc pair I made that are the ancestors of Silk. (Their names are Thaw and Dartfrog and they'll have their own big story!)
Omniscient and Silk are very much in love and Silk would gladly rip apart anyone who messes with her husband and kids. (She nearly killed her brother who cursed Dream)
Silverdale aka Dale is an optimistic dragon with lots of other hybrid friends at the school he goes to, he's working on solving a great mystery with them.
Dreamcatcher is an animus! However she was cursed by her uncle who is also an animus so she is forever asleep, with only a few rare moments of being awake. She's only ever made 2 items with her magic including an orb that allows others to visit her in her dream world and another item that is currently unknown. (Also I would like to note her name may be changed to Dreamchaser as I'm unsure if her name is inappropriate or not, I named her when I was little and would greatly appreciate if someone let me know if it is!)
Oak is a newer oc who eventually becomes Dream's boyfriend. He's determined to break her curse when he meets her and begins an epic journey to wake her up.
Oak is 5'11"
10-12 for bori 1-5 for merrik 6-9 for oak
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character istailored to be compatible to that person?
Theclosest Bori has (or rather, had) to a love interest was an old mercenarypartner he spent the most time with, over 5 years. She was a wood elf namedMagdove who was an independent mercenary who he had worked with a couple times. They decided to travel together for practicality as they were both experienced rangers. She was stoic, an incredible hunter, and a hardened survivalist. It tookseveral years for Bori, and Magdove, to feel comfortable opening up to each other.Their relationship may have gotten more serious but Bori could never bringhimself to take things any further and she respected this. They remain closefriends but haven’t kept in contact due to outside influences.
11. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at thetime of their creation?
Bori isbisexual. He has a preference for women and is still discovering his attractionto men, mostly because he’s never had an opportunity to explore that. His experiencewith romantic/sexual relations is very limited since he’s isolated himself mostof his life and has a lot of issues with intimacy and relationships in general.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creatingart for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
I’mstill trying to figure out how to draw his big dumb horse body. Also I’vestruggled with figuring out his markings since he’s technically based on a greypaint horse but his markings don’t exactly reflect that. At this point I’m justgoing with what looks best.
1. What was the first element of your OC that you rememberconsidering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
I thinkit was literally just…he’s short and a top and that was the joke. Then I wantedhim to pretend to be a wizard but actually only does slight of hand tricks andillusions.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs fromtheir universe in mind?
Notreally. He started off as a traveling magician who’s just a scam artist and hisbackstory just developed over time.
3. How did you choose their name?
Ihonestly don’t remember. I think I originally wanted to go with the name Merry? But I changed it a bit. I think I just wanted there to be the alliteration inhis stage name “Merrik the Magician”.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the worldthey live in played the most influential parts?
Mostlythe people, he’s a social butterfly and tends to seek validation through other’sapproval so the groups he’s been a part of play a big role in how he acts andwhat he does.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Notreally, it just makes him look cute :3
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
Yes! It’sa bit cliché but Oak’s eyes were originally red. The canon reason they’re nowgreen is whatever mysterious energy granted him druidic abilities and a newfound understanding of himself as a living being altered his appearance.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
Oak isabout 8 ft tall which is much taller than the average warforged since he wasthe first and only one of his specific juggernaut build which was created to bethe ultimate tank. He was essentially the secret weapon of his dwarvencreators.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within theircharacter/story?
Irelate to Oaks feelings of wanting to write his wrongs and go on to spread goodin the world .
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
Notreally but usually some part of me ends up in the ocs I create whether Irealize it or not.
