Hi! I used this website to map out the rise and fall of empires in Songs of Aleria - mainly for my own sanity. I have yet to add streams, mountains, valleys and glaciers, etc. But this is a rough draft of what the world looks like. This helped me immensely and I want to share the resource it may be useful for you as well!

Songs of Aleria: the World

The Giants reigned from the tip of the Western shore till the Tarragon glaciers until a slave boy names Aleria rose in defiance changing the course of history. 

Following the defeat of the Giants, many forged their own kingdoms seeking to be the next great empire. However, even those little empires were conquered by the Alerian Empire, all except for the Sea Serpents. 

After years of failure, Lasair finally conquered the Sea Serpents after forming an alliance with Ayla. 

Lasair also funded exploration and during her time, The New World was founded. The Island of Reyla was named after the explorer, a pirate, that discovered the New World. However, the island was already inhabited by a people known as the Eikko (represented by green on the map). But this did not stop the Empire of Aleria from occupying the newly discovered territory.
