Day 5: "Impasse"
Forgot to post this earlier lol.
I tried to draw something serious (ie Witness- or Conductor-related), but unfortunately this post by @rlyehtaxidermist lives rent-free in my head and has been my mood™ since Lightfall. 🤐

So, encouraged by none other than the @kestrel-wylde heres my very first piece of oc-posting on here. None of the names are english-ified because we're not ashamed of our native language in this house. Lucian is a trans guy, Gracelynn is a cis woman who doesn't mind being misgendered for the bit (or power-motivated scheme)
The Waror House was a lot different from the Palace. The walls were thinner, for one, which was weird considering that it was situated on the outmost border where the winds were bolder. The colours were less vibrant, like a re-paint had been due twenty years ago. He could practically see the underlying opinion of the Warors plastered on every nook.
Politics, however, was not the exhausting situation currently on Lucian's mind. For once.
"I'm not begging you to stay." Because a prince didn't reduce himself to to that. It was improper. Would affect, you guessed it, the politics. Such was the lovely life of the Prince without Influence.
"Why not?" She had her arms crossed. Gracelynn did not need to be there. The convoy that had come along during Lucian's initial move was already enough. He didn't need an extra guard that he knew had motives of her own.
He wanted her though.
His binding constraints felt even more tight with every breath now. "I can't." He didn't even mark how they'd dropped both title and last name.
The small smirk that made itself onto her lips infuriated him to no end. For a reason entirely separate from the act itself. It was doing things to him. Things he did not wish to feel.
He wanted to though. A wish and a want were oceans apart for him. A prince could wish, dream of a prosperous kingdom in the face of the public. A prince did not want, should not want.
"You can't? Why, I've seen you, Your Higness."
"How?" He hadn't said a word of it.
Gracelynn Falk shrugged, aware that she would stay without further motivation than Lucian's presence. Aware that he was unknowing of that.
Gracefully avoiding the question, "I guess my family and the Council overseas will have to have their grand gala without me. I've got a prince to look after." Both aware she could very well leave if she wished. Now aware that she wanted to stay.

alright so. the two group important here are .JOY and the APF allumni. let's start with the first one. .JOY is a disbanded girl group with 4 members. their members are Audio, Louise, Khinara, and Aliex (pronounced alex). In cannon, they coined the term Split-pop. Split -pop is a way to categorize music groups by what concepts they choose to blend together into one song. The original motive behind this was to, in their words "challenge and question why certain genres and topics are connected by some people". In the words of lead rapper and visual Aliex "many people are claiming that they want to revolutionize the music genre and leave ripples throughout it, but not many of the people claiming that are actually doing much. We wanted to not just change that, but to inspire young creators to change everything up". Speaking of the members, let's get onto that topic! Of course, this won't be everything about them. I only made them a week ago like geeze give me a break >:( /lh

The only member of the original team who remember .JPF. His goal (aside from defeating the dark lord, of course) is to get the band back together!

After the dark lord went and stole everybody faces, everyone but Audio forgot about .JOY. Audio was heartbroken over this, vowing to do everything he can to get the band back together!
And that's where APF comes in. APF was the label of .JOY, but that certainly wasn't all that they had. Their most popular and successful product was a video hosting and editing site called Apida (styluses as aPIDA). Right now, the main three things you need to know about APF are that 1. They have two mascots, named Kibi and Vers, who were a catgirl and a imp respectively. 2. They owned a large stake in a science corporation that was developing a strange idea called VIVCOTA. and 3. Their CEO is named Léna Marie, and everybody suspects that she's a Vampire (they're right). The previously mentioned Science company thing, at the time, employed Syntax (no relation) as one of their top researchers. I'll be honest i don't fully know what happens next, but the basic gist is that APF commissioned Syntax to create living versions of Kibi and Vers, it originally disagreed, they bribed it, it took the offer, Kibi and Vers became besties, and know their trying to defeat the dark lord. Got that? Hope so!
Lodi saying "Hell's bells" during a mission made me think of my own OCs' vocab / talking habits. So here are some things my OCs would say:

informal contractions like "gimme," "gonna"
improper identifiers, e.g. "boopers" instead of "Taken wells" / "herb-gerbles" instead of "Vex hobgoblins"
'alternative' cuss words like "Oh no noodles" [with the exception of the occasional, well-timed "FUCK"]
Duane
concise, blunt verbiage > formal/academic language (i.e. opposite of Bai)
informal military slang like "Mach Jesus," "FUBAR," "chit"
'hard' cuss words, esp. Gaeilge like "Go hifreann leat"
Riley
online phrases like "potato aim," "Chat are we cooked"
mashups like "voluntold" (volunteer + told), "congratudolences" (congrats + condolences)
'soft' cuss words like "geezums," "dangit"
Since Destiny lore is inaccessible (I've seen the question, "Do Guardians need to eat?" cross my dash several times and it's Driving Me Nuts™), here are some users and resources I use when searching for lore/grimoire:
