bc im always yapping about sasha and adoni, i decided i would use this opportunity to be less annoying about them- and be annoying about some other OCs! most of whom got played 2 or 3 times max (or not at all 🥲)

im gonna do my thing and ramble too much about each of them, so let's go~
• yathana luinel
the 2nd or 3rd character i ever made for a d&d game. it was for the DM's homebrew world and elves had a lot of unique lore that i weaved into her backstory. in a past life she was an elven woman named vasria who fell in love with a half-orc named ustath. she doesn't know what became of them, learning as all elves did about their past lives occasionally during trances. she knew that they were in love but neither her nor his side of the family approved much, among other things. at ~21, all elves go through a cleansing where they are wiped of all their memories of past lives in order to go into adulthood as themselves. she went thru with it, but secretly wrote down everything she could remember in a journal to keep.
i think we played 2 or 3 times. her backstory is overly specific and not very portable, but im fond of her<3 her skin is meant to be a more bright grey-ish, slightly metallic kind of color. fun fact, the sword she uses belonged to her dad :) but if i were to redo her don't think id stick with monk tbh.

oh laeta, my baby. he was my first pathfinder character! honestly he might have been my first tabletop character overall... id have to compare some dates lol. he was born to a noble house in cheliax, which to give a tl;dr is a country of literal devil worshippers and is a very fucked up place. being an aasimar was not a good thing.
i researched so much to find a way to both fit him into a canon noble house and have him be where he needed to be for the start of the game, AND have it all make sense/be satisfying lol. i wrote like..... 4k of lore (which i could not tell you most of anymore 💀) i even got fan art!!!! it lives on my computer, but ive been too unmotivated to dig it up. guess what, we played...... once 🙃 now all that research and interweaving fucked everything up, cause there's no way in hell to recreate this friggin backstory. you are going to notice a pattern. id have to redo Everything. which i have had zero reason to do over these past ~5 years, so he's stuck unused and forgotten but not unloved :/
he is an opera singer 🎶 yet another aspect i plucked up from research, as cheliax loves their operas. he's also rich. so i decided to make him look kind of fancy or whatever. he has a strip of gold running over his lips and down his chin that obv could not be included + his eyes have golden flecks in them.

i made her for icewind dales. she was thrown into a river as a baby in tribute and was secretly rescued by a mysterious magic bear who was shapeshifted into a woman. her real father was king of her tribe, which no longer exists. she houses the champion spirit of her tribe in her 🐯 she don't know none of this, tho 🫠 she was left on a doorstep and grew up with the assumption being she was a product of a one night stand her father had.
her family mostly sucked. her grandma and eldest brother were her source of connection and comfort, but grandma died. and brother went missing without a trace; that loss messed with her in a lot of ways. she peaced out a long time ago. she's something of a civilized wild woman lol she spends most of her time hunting/trapping and generally being out in the frozen woods. we played 3 games? and what do you know, her lore is rather specific thus making it difficult to do anything with her :) (i say this over and over as if i have had opportunities for that in the first place... lmao)
• imanthie van hautum
when imanthie was 197, she met a man named girard. he was 21 and full of pluck and confidence after officially joining the knight order the champions vigilant. he saw a beautiful woman sitting at the park fountain, went to woo her, and it worked! when she tucked her hair back and revealed her elf ears, that confidence fumbled and turned him to a flustered mess; there was an elven city nearby, but they were rare visitors and had a bit of an air of mystery and myth to everyone. this charmed her even further. they courted for 5 years before marrying~
girard was her knight in shining armor. like right out of the fantasy stories humans wrote 💖 they were together for 77 years, girard passing peacefully at 98. imanthie spent a year in mourning. then, to muster up the strength to move on, she decided to honor his memory; she had come to pray to helm as her husband had, strange as some thought it was. and she was very thankful to the god for keeping her husband safe and allowing him to have such a long life with her by human standards. it felt right to extend that same chance to others in his, and girard's, name.
champions vigilant is a canon order of helm! imanthie grew up in suldanessellar, also a canon place in tethyr. idr if i picked a real city for them to live, id have to dig up a map. i described her as having galadriel + mom energy lol. she was for the one shot horror at havel's cross, but we never played 😔 at least her backstory is a bit more flexible in comparison lol.

i did consider adding jaska to the top group... i've mentioned him but he's very uncooperative and hard to talk about 😭 i can't answer a lot of questions on most OC memes. what is their favorite color? he's never thought about it and doesn't care, why would you need to pick one. what do they do for fun? nothing, next question. what do they think of... he probably hasn't encountered whatever it is. and his opinion on stuff is typically "this is really dumb" bc he doesn't Get a lot of things about Society. have they ever- no because he grew up on an island with no human contact but his family for 22 years!!!! that one really wipes out a lot of questions lmao. jaska what am i meant to do with you. sigh.
