Special Diet
Prompt: Special Diet (Vamptober) Rating: T Characters: Asra, Cadoc TW: Blood
It was a weekly ritual. One that she had never intended to participate in. But he was her Master and she knew the price of defiance. She didn’t even remember how it had originally started. It must have been a simple request, perhaps carried with a soft please, or a harsh order. Not that it mattered.
He pours the dark red wine into the two glasses on the table. Hers always full while his he left half full. Or half empty as he likely saw it. Asra knows what it means. Extending her arm, wrist already bare, she can feel her heat beat in anticipation. Her free hand reaches for her glass. The wine was always of excellent quality, smooth and rich. Even though she doubted he enjoyed the wine as much. She wondered when the night would come when he wouldn’t pour any for himself. Perhaps he still enjoyed their game of pretence.
He takes her offered wrist gently, his touch cool against her as he adjusts the angle above his glass. She remembers when his skin is colder, when he desires more. But not today.
The cool swap cleans her wrist. More a formality than anything else. As is him disinfecting the knife. It is small and sharp, only for this purpose. The knife easily parts her flesh. It’s not a deep cut, just enough for her Master to get what he desires.
The blood seeps out slowly, in rich and dark beads, beads that both of their eyes focus on as they slowly travel along her wrist until dropping into the wine. The pain of the cut is almost pleasant, and so fleeting, as she knows from all the earlier times. His crimson eyes meet hers and the familiar hunger in them makes her almost shudder.
Some nights he makes pleasant conversation, but tonight he is quiet. He requires nothing more of her than to be a vessel for his desire, a way to satisfy that hunger that had plagued him for centuries. She is momentarily distracted from her thoughts by a flash of pain as her Master presses her skin near the wound. The blood seeps out faster, in a rich river of life, and part of her can recognise the hunger in herself starting to rise.
He rubs her wrist, soothing the pain. It is also a clear signal. He has enough to satisfy himself for tonight. She heals her skin quickly, watching her flesh knit itself back together. He raises her wrist to his lips, lapping away the blood, cleaning it. Her Master’s sharp canines brush against her skin, almost piercing it again. A shudder travels down her spine and she’s glad it’ll be over soon. But at the same time the dark thought rises of the day when he would go straight for the source, drink her life from her veins rather than insist on this ritual.
But that night is not tonight.
He raises his glass, toasting her. She responds in kind, as expected, watching him drink the darkened wine.
