Can't stand how much my blog is lacking him so I'm donating some Dralsinfaces. Big fan of his perpetual look of displeasure and how he makes sure to arrange his hair to be messy On Purpose.

Ok so all you need to know about Dralsin is that if a ghost appeared in his room in the middle of the night he would have a brief conversation with it, throw something from his bedside table at it and go back to sleep. BUT if a LARGE FLYING BUG appeared in his room - absolutely not no thanks bye.

Using tumblr rq to write a big ole ramble about Fedsy and Dralsin because I want it OUT but don't currently have the energy to cut it down to fit discord, artfight or deal with toyhouse codes lol tldr; dralsin hates fedsys ass when he first meets him, yet still ends up dating him. Years later realises that he is dating the alternate universe version of the thing that destroyed the timeline he was created from. great job dralsin really normal behaviour

Initial vibes/meeting

These two first meet in Jahai in LWS4, after the meeting Aurene crashes. Dralsin feels an odd sense of familiarity around Fedsy, something he finds comforting given that his memory is terrible. He ignores this because 1. That's the commander, everyone knows him and 2. He does not like him. He thinks one person should not have that much power. Fedsy agrees with this, and is actually relieved to have someone dislike him for the 'correct' reasons and be fighting for the same cause, especially after Joko. Dralsin doesn't beg for help, nor care for his authority, will call the pact out on anything he thinks is stupid and treats Fedsy like any other guy - this is appreciated.

Dralsin ends up in the mists with him during the whole blish incident due to being very vocal about the fact that sending ‘their most important guy’ (derogatory) into the mists with only a golem for backup is stupid, so he’s going in too. Fedsy overrides anyone who thinks trusting this newcomer is a bad idea, because Dralsin is a fascinating specimen to him. This is when Dralsin starts to channel glint, which is ALSO something Fedsy is very very pleased about.

It’s this dynamic for a long time - Dralsin is a huge asset to the pact despite disliking the whole thing a lot, the commander (who pisses him off) keeps trying to shove responsibilities on him which he doesn't want. Fedsy doesn’t often bother arguing back other than with snark until Aurene’s death. They’re probably not the greatest to keep each other company during this time, but everyone else has other friends or family to go to or other responsibilities and these two either don’t have anyone that close that isn’t preoccupied or won’t acknowledge said responsibilities. Fedsy has buggered off alone, Dralsin has hunted him down to tell him he’s being stupid. (I’m sure u can imagine this goes down well).

Middle bit

Dralsin softens up over time, especially after Aurenes death and during the icebrood saga. Fedsy doesn't match up to the legend of the commander at all, and whilst he’s still exasperated with the pact he’s discovering something called sympathy! Especially with the anti-commander propaganda in grothmar and drizzlewood (something which feds relentlessly teases him about, as ‘sounding like him’) and the other two dragon champions being So Much Worse. They start dating at the end of IBS, but have definitely hooked up before doing something as daring as Holding Hands. Maybe worth noting that both being sylvari without a connection to the dream, they also relate to each other in this way.

Before that though, they started to develop more of a friendship between LWS4 and IBS - through the skyscale questline of all things. Fedsy is SUPER exasperated at this point because Gorrik has called him back to deal with the skyscales, all the while Dralsin has been chilling with them for ages. Welcome to the pact, Dralsin, this is your problem now. So they’re both living and working around Suns refuge at the time. Dralsin is getting to see what Fedsy is  like outside his ‘role’, at one point querying if ‘the commander’ should be doing something more important than helping build gravestones? (to which he gets an EARFUL. Respects him more after that.) Fedsy's stupid bird is harassing his skyscale, Dralsin can’t be mad at him because he keeps bringing it unreasonably large pieces of meat and singing stupid songs to it whilst he thinks he’s not there. 

That silly little questline where you have to take your skyscale places around tyria? Dralsin hasn’t explored much of it! Fedsy tour guide time. I’d say this is definitely where things kick off more romantically with them, although they’ll be trying to ignore that once IBS begins. Not too successfully, I think the entire pact thinks they’re dating at that time. 

They’ve also got a mutual thing going on of Not asking each other to talk about themselves. It's great. They suck at communication and later in their relationship dralsin WILL open up somewhat whereas Fedsy is an idiot and uses the scrying pool. Mildly traumatising for dralsin, seeing a POV of dying to balthazar, buuut it does explain a lot about fedsy.

Skipping ahead! SotO

 I want to go back to that familiarity felt by Dralsin. SO. in his description I said that he’s the result of a now-destroyed timeline. The problem is that one large factor contributing to the destruction of said timeline would be a mordrem/corrupted champion of aurene-esque Fedsy. Dralsin only learns this upon meeting his sister (and other family) in SotO. THAT'S a whole other problem “you're dating WHO??”. - especially with that sense of familiarity being one reason he felt comfortable around fedsy despite his dodgy memory. And the fact that there’s been a few semi-dream signs he completely ignored. Combine that with the fact that Fedsy seems vulnerable to kryptis possession and tries to kill him out during this storyline and it’s a wobbly part of their relationship.

Especially given how protective fedsy is of him during this time - with Dralsin taking up the role of the wayfinder, feds struggles to stay out of it , scared of him being made a martyr like he was. They’ve been very codependent, and Dralsin almost feels like he’s built his whole life (at least what he remembers) around fedsy, but this does resolve from now onwards. 

They're kind of co-commanders now, with Dralsin viewed as the more approachable due to Fedsys reputation. I do find this very funny. Everyone is avoiding the guy in the corner with flowers in his hair tending to the injured gwyldel because he's scary, but the resting bitchface wall of heavy armour guy currently cleaning blood off his weapons is very approachable! And they're right.

One of my favourite things about this update is that it's just canach who goes with the commander to confront vloxx when he ascends. Fedsy and Canach flirt for enrichment, nobody knows if it is serious or not, if they have slept together in the past is a point of contention.

Now. Dralsin is the wayfinder. Dralsin is also Fedsys boyfriend, and will be going with him and Canach for this event. Dralsin is chill as hell and finds the above entertaining because he is (fondly) a freak, so that is not a problem here.

THE PROBLEM is that VLOXX is here too. I dont need to explain him further. Fedsy can NOT be this in demand. This is not normal and I think we need to calm down. My boyfriend and our pet boyfriend and (points at vloxx) this thing . some sort of nightmare polycule. He's ruining the dynamics. it does not help that the commander keeps speaking to him with an almost unhinged level of desperation. He needs an intervention . He also needs to apologise more to Dralsin for getting jealous with the whole Peitha thing, given that this is ten times worse!! 😭

Dralsin has clearly spent some time reflecting on his lifestyle after the trauma of soto, and has decided to take up a new career in drug and arms trafficking. You'll find him on the beaches of Bloodtide Coast.
