Refining some designs, mroe details later, but first off- I need help on name suggestions! 

So far for CO I’ve got “_______ Bolivár Mendoza”, so he needs a first name. Kinda wanna go with a vaguely German one. (do I be mean to him an name him Bruno? Though actually, then he could sign shit as B. B. Mendoza . . .)

As for LA, I’ll get to her last name on my own ‘cause gonna do a lot more research for some significance. Like, I’m in New Orleans, I kinda have to. I listed some names I like for her, and all of them you gotta say with the N.O. French Creole accent. Now just from insta on the two, w a lil’ added: 

LA: Refining LA's design. Gave her a shorter face which I'm liking better, just gotta refine the shape. Also refining her eye shape, which I’ve got a solid picture for and slowly working out how to draw. Other than that her design hasn’t changed. Juan calls her Luz but that just a joke on how some people pronounce Louisiana. She still needs a human name so taking suggestions.

CO: Been messing with CO's design n I saw a dude in line at Panera today and this happened. He's pretty much the same, just with a beard and much waiver hair. Now that I’ve got a solid design I like, gonna finally work out a gd color scheme. Not sure if it’s just really wavy or if it borders wavy/curly. He's still trans, which I'm not sure if I've mentioned before? Either way, character wise he's basically the same.

What do y’all think of the name Dominique for LA? 

I was going through that list of names I ave from the last headshot I did ‘n just really like it. She deserves a super pretty name like that. Gonna do more research before a last name though.

LA nickname headcannon:

Juan nicknames LA "Luz" (I don't have a real name for her yet) as a play on how Louisiana is sometimes pronounced "Lou-ziana". (or however you'd spell out that pronunciation) And then proceed with additional explanation about how she lights up a room or some corny shit.

TX and LA

[So I'm pretty sure I've typed out most of these, but speaking of what I wanted to draw (and then wanting to draw LA god damn it I have too much I wanna do) I figured I'd lay some of these out.

Juan speaks a little French. It isn't good and his accent is pretty terrible and it used to be better, but he does speak some, maybe an intermediate level. LA likes to make fun of/tease him about it. She'll also give him helpful pointers, but very often give him words/gramatical structures from French Creole while saying she's teaching him French. She'll usually tell him after a while, but he still accidentally mixes some of it into his French. He takes the teasing very good naturedely 'cause he knows she means it that way, and often plays into it with purposefully comically crappier French. She will also teach him some French Creole, which if he’s being honest with himself, he knows more of then French French. He also likes it better ‘cause European versions of languages are always the inferior ones. LA’s maybe not fluent in Spanish, but she knows more than enough to get around, could take a class in Spanish and understand enough, and knows say more of it than Juan does French/French Creole. If she wants to screw with him, she’ll use vosotros and that listhpy Spanish accent when speaking Spanish.

They have fun reading French and Spanish with the other’s respective pronunciation. (This is based off fun times a friend and I had at the zoo reading Spanish signs with French and Japanese pronounciations)

They cook together a ton, which I think is my favorite and most obvious headcanon. Whenever they they're staying over with each other the first night the host will plan the meal, maybe ask the guest to bring something special from their home, and the guest will help. Unless they get in really late, in which case the guest just gets food 'cause they need to go to sleep soon and both of them are great hosts. If there's a larger gathering of like Gulf Coast or Southern States or cities or something they love getting together and cooking and planning a huge freakin' meal. They also send/bring each other soup and stuff when one of them's sick. TX is one of the few people LA trusts in the kitchen, the others being MS and AL. Part of this being Juan just being a great cook, part being cultural similarities between eastern/gulf coast TX and southern LA.

They sing and play together a ton. Jam sessions seem to be a common thing with TX and his friends. xD. He’s better on guitar and harmonica, and she’s much better on fiddle. They both play a mean accordion. They also dance a lot, they're both relatively good at it and find it fun. When she's in TX they'll usually visit dance halls, and when he visits N.O. they’ll go out. When it’s both of them out with a bunch of friends they are the worlds BIGGEST show offs with karaoke duets and owning the dance floor.

They like to poke fun of each other, lots of imitating accents going on. She'll usually do the most stereotypical, overblown Texas Twang she can muster. He might do the freakin' heaviest Creole and even Cajun accent he can.

She’s the Texarkana twins’ aunt, an integral part of that family.
