i got a couple questions for you, if you don’t mind! no pressure ofc
was there ever a point in time where america & britain had a—at the very least—okay relationship? if so, when?
so, about the fact that america has like, 50+ kids. is he a good dad? i mean naturally it’d be hard for him to give out his full attention to ALL of them but does he at least try to do good?
do you ship france x britain? just curious. either way, what’s their dynamic?
No problem! I’ll answer as best I can lol
1. They did! Pretty much right after WWI they started to repair their relationship, and after WWII they were pretty happy with each other! It’s only pretty recently that their relationship started going downhill again.
2. He’s got fewer than 50 states/territories he considers children actually lol. The original 13 colonies are older than him, and are more like aunts and uncles. A lot of the island nations under American control are also older than him, and they act more as acquaintances (this includes Hawaii). Alaska and America have that “adopted at 17 but she still sticks around” vibe. Florida, Texas, New Mexico, and most previously Mexican territories were raised by Mexico, but America came in early enough that they see him as a sort of uncle?? Louisiana purchase states are America’s first Earthborn set of children. The 13 colonies helped raise them, because America was still in his super young “I gotta go out and do and see everything” stage. Idaho, Oregon, and Washington are the states that got to see the MOST fatherly side of him from a young age. All in all it’s kind of a mixed bag? Unlike Britain who was digging potato babies up by the shovelful, America tended to come in later in states’ lives. Very complicated stuff lol
3. I do! It’s more of a background thing, so not my main focus lol. But currently they’re married and have that “bickering old couple” type relationship. But VERY enemies-to-lovers in their younger years. Canada and America were born during their many feuds, which meant Britain got America and France got Canada any time they split (which was often lol). France is a woman in my headcanons, but don’t take that to mean she was the victim (most of the time she was the one absolutely clobbering Britain when he stepped out of line lol)
