Massive 14 year old V average sized 47 year old, saved by the fact his undersized 15 year old would be mad at them.
When you HATE your brother's dad with a passion 💜
When you have to tolerate that your son's sibling wants you dead for existing & also still take care of them regardless👍
When you believe in gentle parenting but your son's sibling is pushing ur boundaries with their aggression but they dont see you as a parental figure so they'd probably disregard it if you tried to ground them but if you did try they'd also burst into tears regardless of how seriously they take it because they'll think you dont like them
He's so small and chock full of disorders . . You cant blame him
Friend requested that I draw my characters how they'd draw themselves, so this was a good chance to experiment with styles
are there any restaurants local to any of your OC’s that they really like to visit? if there is, what kind of thing would they order, and would they get the same thing every time or try something new each time
The single irony here is that erm my OCs live in space traveling planet 2 planet 2 collect bounties and such, so they dont rlly have local unless we count the sequel story. Also i dont rlly know many dishes admittedly, im picky despite wanting to be a foodie lolol, these r gna be vague in the end but its okay
Oren is picky to the point where he's just not picky. He legit doesn't like the taste or texture of any food and actively dislikes eating, he went to culinary school to try and find anything even. Nada. So he ends up just not having preference in the end but he does make sure that everyone else is getting good food at least.
Codi likes seafood, less so shellfish but she'll still enjoy it. She also likes sour and tangy food. As for pickiness, she actually likes to explore a lot, but still knows what she wont like. She'll try to get something new usually, but if a location has something familiar for once, she'll stubbornly cling to it.
Reagan starts off a little picky, he mostly likes sweet, savory and spicy things, but I only mean picky in that he doesnt like exploring outside those 3 things. He's known for making some terrible stuff that only he enjoys. Luckily, the topic is eating out. He's small so he usually just tries to skip right to some chocolaty dessert, but if he cant then he'll find something to make everyone else's problem by finding the spiciest dish and then asking for it to be even more hot. He revels in it if he can get the others uncomfortable just by being around his dish. Once Rea's powers come into play tho he starts going for quantity and heat more than taste and spice, way less picky.
Sammy goes from incredibly picky (will only eat plain oatmeal and fruit smoothies) to being a wastebin as long as its vegetarian, at which point they love to explore new foods. Sammy has poor spice tolerance, which the others use against them, but otherwise they're excited to try anything. They have a slight preference for baked goods or anything grilled, but that's about it
Eurm in the sequel story, Sammy's actually settled down somewhere, but is pretty agoraphobic, so its rare they go out. When they do, its usually for something small. They dont like most drinks that arent water, but on occasion they might have a citrussy green tea, then they usually just go for some cheesy ass pasta or a chocolatey or lemony pastry.
Iseah, Sammy's housemate, is also not so picky, though he's definitely become less so due to exposure. His only preference is for savory dishes, he likes spicy things and meaty things not too disimilar to Reagan, but unlike Reagan, he isnt willing to make terrible foods just for fun. He loves when Sammy busts out a grill, the only draw back is that Sammy doesnt eat meat but they like to experiment on what they make, so Iseah either gets something very similar to each other or very strange. Either way, its not bad, and usually better at any rate.
I was going through your Codi tag, and saw you mentioned she left the team because she was being mistreated - could you elaborate on that? What exactly led up to the family/team disbanding? :0 also sorry if my wordings a bit off, need sleep oof
So, her background is that she was very abused and controlled by her parents and that left her to be very anxious about adults in particular. The team is only 4 members including herself, Oren is in his 40s and while Sammy's actually very young, they still look to be an adult, they're very imposing. Reagan's very small and is just a kid, he's the one person she really feels safe around, even when she'd warmed up to the others, its Reagan who she trusts most.
Somewhere at the story's midpoint, there's a misunderstanding in the team which makes Reagan out to be maliciously untrustworthy, she loses Reagan as a sort of mental support and becomes very defensive due to this. After a while of being disliked, Reagan runs away after hearing some news of his biological family being in trouble but ends up stranded. Sammy has a huge emotional reliance on Reagan as well and starts to break down in his absence as the team discusses what to do. Codi's saying that they should let him be, not knowing he's stranded, as Codi is also a runaway kid and sees this as reasonable. Unable to regulate themself, Sammy has an outburst and hurts Codi before Oren can separate the two. They're normally a very gentle and patient person, even a bit of a doormat, and once they're able to calm down they greatly regret it. When Rea returns, its with the help of an android, Con, who helps to mediate the situation and bring an end to the misunderstanding but at this point damage has been done. Sammy's scared to be around Codi, Codi wont necessarily forgive Sammy but trusts that they wont do that again due to the state they're in over it, Oren feels terrible about just everything as both a father and team leader and Reagan, while forgiving, had been really hurt by sustained hostility.
Later, Reagan's biological family is murdered as a threat to the gang and Reagan runs away again at 17, this time for years and years. Codi leaves due to his absence since last time that lead to her being hurt, leaving Oren and Sammy as the last members. Oren from there retires the team and settles down, living with Sammy.
Hello, dear! You've been visited by the random character question fairy! :D ~☆
What’s your character’s self-esteem like? What events have affected their self-esteem in the past? How does their self-esteem change throughout the story?
For Oren, he's prideful in how he's experienced and dependable in his age. He's prone to boast and show tons of charisma when surrounded by ppl he cares for. What he's sensitive of is his family, both biological and adoptive. Oren's spiraled into multiple depressive and obsessive episodes over trying to find and rescue his biological children, it took Codi's scolding and Reagan going comatose and terribly sick to snap him out of the first one and since then he just became a much more dull person but definitely more caring.
Initially Reagan was a very quiet kid untill Oren took him in, the charisma that Oren had definitely rubbed off onto him, making Reagan super confident to a flaw. He's also painfully empathetic, though lacks an amount of compassion which makes him both able to plan ahead for emotional missteps and able to easily manipulate the team despite being its runt. As such, he's got a very big ego but what he can't tolerate is being called out or challenged, all the same, he cannot handle loneliness the most. His self-esteem was most influenced by the team just like the rest of them, but he became uniquely inflated which led to his downfall in his adult life when they disbanded
Codi is very lacking initially as well, she was never respected at home and was inadvertently raised to be intimidated by adults, after running away and joining the team, she's only comfortable around Reagan. After a while of Reagan giving her all the assurance she needs, Oren was able to join in on that too, compared to everyone else Codi actually made strides of improvement on her self-esteem. She's more willing to have emotion and speak out, she finds love in herself that only she knows how to express and finds that she isn't being respected how she wants to be and leaves which ultimately disbanded the team. It was a good thing for her though, she isn't flawed for it and continues to live happily which the others simply cant say in at least one of those regards.
Sammy'd gone from very literally not having a sense of self, to misplacing their sense of self into Reagan and then never truly being able to reassign it to themself after he dies. Sammy was rescued from life as a slave by Reagan and was taught the ropes of life by him too, the set are inseparable and even share a room. They learn to be most prideful in how they are affectionate and compassionate, they are very smart despite naivety, but they're proud of that anyways. For a while Sammy was okay but when Reagan went comatose it was very early on from when they'd met which established Sammy having separation anxiety from Reagan which they cant shake, the 2 times Rea ran away after that sent them into abysmal states and after Reagan dies they become heavily depressed, the last person of familiarity they have left is Reagan's ex at that point since Oren's dead and Codi's left. They try to be alright and are an important figure to the sequel story later on where they're seen still struggling but not doing so terribly
