Thought about making this into a full fic, but then I un-thinked.
So have this drabble of a yan detective:
“Colin, someone filed another missing report.” Someone places a piece of paper on Colin’s desk. Seeing the name and the picture on the paper, Colin groans and lays back on his seat.
“Again? Who filed it this time?”
Colin’s coworker sighs.
“Another new one who claims to be their spouse……it’s the fourth time this year.”
“Man, I wish they put trackers on babies so people can actually be found.” Colin’s coworker says again. “Good luck then, pal.” He then adds, leaving Colin in for a long night of working.
Colin is a vessel for justice, a savior to the stressed, and being able to be someone’s hero has pushed him through dark times.
That’s why he is so determined to find you, he wants to become your savior.
It took him a long time, but he found you, curled up in the corner of some sort of room as a glorified cage.
When you hear the door being kicked open and you look up, your eyes meet, yours filled with joy when you realize you’re finally saved from being passed from one evil to another.
Yet his eyes tell a different story.
Oh the way all hell breaks loose when you wrap your arms around him, you thanked him too soon.
The moment he lay eyes on you, he had realized that as long as you roam freely on the streets, you’ll never be safe. As a bringer of justice, he must take action.
You never got to return home, as Colin places your sleeping form on his bed, wiping the dried tears away from your stained face.
“You’ll understand, I’m only saving you. You’ll understand that I’m a good guy some day.”
Gently, he takes your hand and slides a ring with a shining ruby onto your ring finger. He admires the blinking light hidden inside and lowers his head to peck your finger.
You’ll never be gone again, your hero promises.
Fun fact, his full name is Colin Allcars, yes, a lame pun I found on the internet :^)
