“Take me away, fly this girl as high as you can into the wild blue....set me free”
Yesterday was my last tour of my east coast trip, an Ocean Freedom cruise to the Great Barrier Reef and Upolu Cay Island. Spent six hours admiring the Great Barrier Reef with snorkeling, an intro dive, and a glass bottom boat. An underwater camera would not have done any justice to the beauty of the reef, I thought snorkeling at the Whitsundays was beautiful but the coral and marine life gets even better...and bigger, I saw the largest clam yet that was almost as tall as I am! And I finally found Nemo! The intro dive was a bit scary for me at first. I was uncomfortable with the equipment but you dive with one of the crew members, a qualified diver, who makes you feel at ease, holds your hand the entire time, and guides you through the dive. All the crew members were very fun, kind, and helpful! Upolu Cay is a tiny island or patch of golden sand in the middle of the ocean, it is full of shells and coral, which can not be removed, only admired. The water is a gorgeous aquamarine with light waves and thankfully no stingers, so I was able to swim and enjoy the water. I did not want to leave "the island!"
