none of them felt right just yet for a fic title, but I have them saved at this point in case I use them for chapter titles, which I pretty much never do, but there’s so many that’ll be applicable for so many of them:

-“i miss the days of a life still permanent”, I Wanna Get Better, Bleachers

-“when there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by”, Smile, the Lady GaGa cover from the other night but I’d heard it from Nat King Cole before

“hold back the river, let me look in your eyes”, Hold Back the River, James Bay

“my hands they shake, my head it spins”, I and Love and You, The Avett Brothers

literally all the rest of them are from Press Restart by Walk the Moon:

“head heart malfunction”

“maybe it’s not an ending, maybe it’s a beginning”

“so maybe i still notice you in traces like in total strangers faces”

“just broke the hell out of my heart”

“the last chapter in the story of my old self”

“i am the experiment, i am mad scientist, invent my way out of this”

I cannot put into words just how strong the hurt/comfort is going to be both in this fic and the sequel to this fic (this fic will probably handily hit at least 15k and I’m already mapping the sequel).

I feel like we’ve pretty easily cornered the market on Mumford & Sons and poetry for the Priestverse that it’s gonna be hard for me to find pulls from either of them that we haven’t already used, though :D

god Hannah I just posted the first one and it was less sucky than I thought it would be but there were some moments where I had to say something nice about myself and I was like AAAAAH HOW AND WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS
