he found it amusing that she challenged him again, he glanced up towards her with raised eyebrows nodding his head slowly. he moved to rest his elbow against the table, gently taking her hand into his while glancing up. “okay, uma.” he chuckled. “ready?”

He flinched slightly at the accusation, but really couldn't fault her for it either. It wasn't as if Auradon had ever been kind to them, and he could understand that much of what the kingdom did left a sour taste through the television. Advancement, prosperity and ceremony while those children were left here, trapped and abandoned for crimes they hadn't committed.

"I mean it, Uma." He said softly, hoping she'd understand he wasn't here to make himself look good, his first acts as king seen as no more than mere publicity stunts. That wasn't what he was about. These children, these people, were a part of the kingdom as well, and deserved better than the lot they'd been given.

"I want this to work, you— none of you should have been left here in the first place. I want to change things, but I can't do it alone. The people here, they trust you, and they'll follow you. I want to do this right, the Isle's part of Auradon too and that means I have a responsibility to you guys as well as to the rest of the kingdom."

     Audra smiles softly at the gesture and reaches up to catch Uma’s hand. She presses a kiss there and smiles up at her before turning back to her textbook. It only takes a moment, though, before she slams the cover shut and leaps up to wrap Uma in a hug. “I need you to know that made my whole night, that was so cute.”
