I hate Odalia - we all do. But I hate it even more when people treat her like she was always evil and Alador never actually loved her. It takes away from the weight of their abusive marriage imo. Alador loved Odalia, he really did and Odalia also loved Alador. It was a toxic, toxic love and Odalia began abusing him, yet Alador was so blinded by his love that he let that abuse slide for not only himself - but his kids as well. I'd love to see something like that in depth instead of just "odalia's a bitch" OBVIOUSLY she is a bitch - but give her depth in the bitchery so we can feel just how impactful she was on her husband and children! One of the most disturbing things about Odalia's abuse in particular is that it comes from love. That's the most disturbing thing about most cases of child abuse or abuse in marriage - the abusers despite how horrible they are, still love their victims. (especially in child abuse). Which is terrifying. That's not an excuse or a justification of Odalia's abuse btw she's still shit - but it makes everything more impactful for Alador + his kids when we take that into account. At some point in Alador's life his relationship with Odalia was a good one that turned abusive by Odalia. For their kids all they knew was an abusive mother when they were too young to even realize. While Odalia isn't as fleshed out as Belos is when it comes to abuse & character, I love to add this kind of depth to her. I cannot stress enough if y'all truly put the time in to truly show off the horror of Odalia Blight - you won't regret it and it'll make your stories sound even more heartbreaking. Long rant but - yeah tl;dr make Odalia a well-written bitch (abuser)
