☆ – Kaneki had earlier been trying to master the craft of making a decent coffee, each time overflowing and never tasting exactly like one made by a more experienced worker at Anteiku. After customers began to complain that it wasn’t the signature blend or taste that they had came here for, he’d been told to try and serve someone instead. His shift was almost over anyways, how much more could he possibly mess up?
He had no way of telling which customers were ghouls and who weren’t, so each time he approached someone to take their order he could do nothing but offer a shaky smile and wish they wouldn’t order a big meal he could possibly burn or destroy. God, he was terrible at this.
“Hello, welcome to Anteiku,” he greeted the boy who sat alone at a table tucked away further in the corner, “My name is Kaneki Ken, so, uh, if you want coffee or a sandwich or something--” how unprofessional did that sound? Kaneki cut himself off before he could embarrass himself any further, instead clearing his throat and gesturing vaguely at the paper menu that was already neatly set on the table.
