It had been a busy week for Apollo and Odette. They hadn’t been able to see each other for days due to their conflicting schedules. The first chance they got to spend some time together was after a particularly draining spell casting tournament Odette had placed first in. She went looking for Apollo after his practice. He was so excited to see her stumble over to him, his tail all but wagged.

When he got close enough, Odette fell into him, selfishly absorbing the comforting heat from his body. He caught her and eased the both of them down onto a nearby bench. Apollo placed Odette’s head on his lap, gently stroking her hair as she brought her knees in to curl up into the fetal position. He attempted to strike up conversation but his words would fall on exhausted ears. Odette murmured, “Apollo, let me sleep.” She practically whined.

“How do you straighten your hair like this?” He asked, seeing if he could annoy her into speaking with him for longer.

He was met with a muffled, “hot comb,” and left it at that.

He caressed her hair gently. When his leg got tired, he’d just carry her home. Maybe he’ll join her?
