Chamber Promotes Social Media
Shaun and I had a great time with our "Social Media" pilot program with the West County Chamber Small Business Council last month. It's amazing how it seemed to open business owner's eyes as to what all you can do with the different types of social media.
The next series of classes being tought, starting June 7, 2011, is just about booked.

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce wants its members to play around more on Facebook and Twitter.
The business group is holding a series of workshops on social media, hoping that local businesses will discover new ways to promote themselves and interact with customers.
The chamber will hold three sessions in June on social media applications including Twitter, Foursquare and Facebook, plus blogging platforms such as Tumblr. The group held an informal gathering to introduce the workshops with a half-dozen business owners last week.
“If you have a brick and mortar store or some sort of service, there’s a conversation going on about your business whether you know it or not,” said Bryan LePage, the chairman of Columbia Bank and chair of the chamber’s small business council. “It’s your voice. This is another way to get your voice out.”
The sessions will take place on June 8, June 15 and June 22 and are for chamber members only. They cost $15 each or $45 for all three, and will be held at the chamber offices at 8385 Piney Orchard Parkway.
Shaun Wilson, a broker at Capitol CREAG, a real estate consulting firm, will conduct the workshops.
Chamber members are encouraged to sign up early, as the sessions are capped at eight people class.
