By which to say I mean I value my friendships very highly, chief among them being an actual celestial being so I am quite literally blessed. How many heaven puns am I allowed to make? That’s it? Fine, I’ll get off the stage.”

“Oh! The last time I cried wasn’t a bad thing at all.” Maelie admitted, practically dismissive in tone. “I almost always cry during wedding ceremonies, at some point. It’s all so beautiful, you know. I can’t help it.”

Maelie took a deep breath and pondered the question for a moment, taking another sip of her champagne before actually answering. “Loneliness, perhaps.” She said first, before shaking her head. “But it is more than that. It is the idea that... when I die, no one would even notice, let alone mourn.” 

“Not that I believe that is the case now, that’s not true. But it is a fear.”

The loves of my life. And my friends. Seems unkind to leave them out.

Also I once lost my entire translation thesis in the Thames. That was... instructive.
