Maelie let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. “It was nothing romantic... I was twelve years old, and a friend of mine was teasing me... he and our other friend, you see, had both already had their first kisses, and I had not. And out of complete fury, I leaned forward, pressed my lips to his, and promptly started giggling. More a childish game, than a real kiss.”

Truth be told, Maelie’s apartment barely even has a living room. However, what she does have is a round coffee table with a few seats around it, mostly comfortable chairs. On the table sits a pot of flowers, usually along with the latest newspaper. Next to one of the chairs, her favourite, in fact, she has a side table with two shelves. The top shelf usually has a novel or two, while the second shelf is dedicated to magazines that she currently finds useful, whether it be for flowers, or for design ideas for events, or even just a fashion magazine.

⚱️- Homely decorations
Maelie’s home is extremely simple. She lives in a very small apartment close to Tout en Fleur, but because most of her money goes back into her business, she still lives rather modestly. Being a florist, she always has fresh pots of flowers on tables, whatever they had excess of in the store that day.
Most of her decorating is made up of gifts, and therefore, much of her house doesn’t match - but everything has a story behind it. Her first clients weren’t nearly as notorious as the ones she works for nowadays; no, she often donated her time at the beginning of her career, or worked for very little, to make friends happy. Her generosity can be seen by the gifts she has been given by grateful brides, such as embroidered cushions, small paintings... things that they could make by hand. These items are the favourite things she owns.

“I had a dear friend when I was child, his name is Charles. Our homes were rather close to one another, so whenever we had company, he and his family would be there. He was close to my age, but he and my brother did not get along very well, so we often spent time together when our families were having wine in the library. I haven’t seen him in years, but I owe my fondest childhood memories to him.”

“Oh, I always wanted to be an artist when I was younger, but I am simply terrible at all of it. My drawing, painting, embroidery... it’s all awful.”
🍻 “if anything, what makes you hate a person?”
“It is... difficult to make me hate anyone, I will say that.” Maelie began, hesitant to come right out and say it, despite the alcohol in her system already. “A true lack of remorse, though... no concept of how your actions could hurt another person. Those are truly loathesome qualities, I believe.”
