🌖Odin's Day
Odin is known as the All-Father, and is the god of death, magic and divination. Chief of the Æsir tribe and king of Asgard. Namesake for Wednesday. Believed to be the founder of old runes known as futhark makes Odin also seen as a poetic deity and god of wisdom.
Odin, or Óðinn in old norse, might be considered one of the most well-known gods. He is also one of the best when it comes to the magical art known as sejd, and is also known to surround himself with animals; the ravens Huginn and Muninn who act as his eyes in Midgard, the wolves Geri and Freki and the eight-legged horse Slepinir.
Ways to show your devotion: - Odin’s rune is Ansuz. Carve it onto a piece of wood while chanting a prayer in his name. Huginn and Muninn will tell him of your deed. - Odin is the god of wisdom. Use your own well and he will be pleased. Read a book or learn something new. - Odin is believed to be the founder of the old futhark and is the god of divination. Use this Wednesday to read the runes for yourself or for someone else to show your devotion. - Ward your home with his rune, or with runes from the old futhark. Like before Huginn and Munnin will tell him of your deed.
Disclaimer: This is my way of showing devotion and my beliefs of the old northern gods. They might not work for everyone, but you are welcome to try them if you want to.Â
