Zantetsuken Kanji

When Odin is summoned in FFVIII, you might have noticed some kanji appearing on the screen during his attack. These are “zan”, “tetsu” and “ken”, which is the name of the attack itself, meaning “Iron-severing sword”.

The next bit of info contains a SPOILER!

When Seifer counters Odin’s Zantetsuken in Lunatic Pandora, the kanji that appear mean “Zantetsuken Reverse”.

Push The Button

In FFVIII, while attempting the Odin GF sidequest, it is possible to skip the Centra Ruins puzzle and get teleported to Odin's chamber right away. Just hold the button with which you challenge others to a card game (square button in PS versions) when entering the ruins. Make sure to hold it until the next screen loads. This shortcut probably allowed for more effective testing by the game developers.

But beware! You will only have 1:30 minutes left on the timer and if you haven't activated the stairs beforehand, you won't be able to exit the ruins at all.
