It's been far, far too long since last they were able to spend time alone together, since last he was able to hear his beloved mate's voice to feel familiar warmth in his arms, but there was no sense in focusing on such a thing when the person he so adored was finally back where he belonged.

Cheek nuzzled lovingly against the side of his head, tail coiling about the pair as he simply cradled the Harbinger close, basking in the moment he so dearly wished might not ever come to an end.

" I do hope you'll be able to stay for a short while at least . I've missed you , my dearest rascal ~ "

Coming up behind Diluc, Childe snakes an arm around to glide palm down arm until at last ceasing movements when fingers push between the redhead's own, the matching rings clink against each other. Bending head to the side to glance at Diluc's face, a small smirk coiling to lips. "Has anyone asked you yet about your new ring?" A chime of a tease to vocals.

Of course, he had sensed Childe before he even laid a finger on Diluc-- Not a lick of fear within him. He glances to watch that hand trail down his arm and lock fingers with his own, those matching bands shining together. "Hmph." A bright blush warms his cheeks, head turning away from the ginger's prying gaze. "I've had it covered with my glove all day. As if I would parade around with this.... thing visible."

Waking up next to the harbinger was nothing new. It was the glistening ring on his finger that caught his attention. And the matching one around Childe's. Oh. Oh no. Swiftly, he shoved at the other body in an attempt to wake him.

"Wake up-- Ajax, wake up--" His eye twitched, his voice getting more and more irritated. "I'll burn your ass, I swear to the Archons--"

Childe reaches out to snatch a hold of Diluc's wrist before the tycoon manages to escape from him so easily. Tugging by force, he pulls the man into his lap to where hands may find a place upon thighs right nearby hips. Leaning in, the Harbinger begins to peck lips along the curve of neck. "Always so swift to find a way out, hm? Not even willing to give me the time of day. How hurtful. Our business is done, exchange complete, yet why not stay a tad longer? After all, it's late. No one else is around to be a disturbance," purposely sucks in a small spot upon their jaw, canine grazing skin. Shift of face back before Diluc, Childe at last steals a swift kiss by a peck of lips, daring not to hover too far away, less they attempt to run away.

He oh-so loathed dealing with the fatui. Why he agreed to meet elsewhere but his own manor was his own fault. And when all was said and done, he was desperate to leave. But alas, he was caught and trapped before he could safely get away. Ah, and he fit so perfectly on the harbinger's lap, too. Lips upon his neck, Diluc fought desire.

"I would much rather return to the warmth of my own bed, Childe." But those lips were temptation. And that peck was far from satisfying.

Arms slinked around the ginger's neck. "If you are going to kiss me, do so properly. Perhaps I'll be more inclined to spend the night." He paused. "But I'm leaving before daybreak-- I don't need the whole of Mondstadt knowing." Slowly, he shifted a bit closer, gently bringing their bodies closer.

--- Prior... Zhongli had been able to lift the Harbinger with ease. Thus, when Ajax stares at the former archon from a distance, eyebrows begin to furrow. Thoughtfully, curiously. Strolling on up to the other man, he proceeds to wrap his arms around Zhongli and go to lift them up off the ground, pushing weight into his leg muscles in the process. Can he lift the other man up?

   Normally no one was able to truly break through the calm and collected exterior of the former Archon,  yet if anyone was going to be able to do so,  it was none other than the man that had become irreplaceable in the dragon’s life.  He had just finished hanging up usual tailcoat for the evening,  about to turn his attention to the Harbinger,  yet before a word could be uttered a pair of arms closed around his waist.

   The sensation of being lifted was certainly not a familiar one.  Body tensed at first,  hands coming to rest atop the ginger’s shoulders as he found himself surprisingly at the younger man’s mercy,  so to speak.

   “ A - Ajax ,  what are you doing ? ”  Zhongli cleared his throat softly as his tail flicked behind him.  Granted,  he likely wasn’t  light ,  but ...  He’d give his mate credit for being so bold as to do such a thing.

   Mortals could still be quite vexing to him sometimes,  but if a silly little game meant that he could indulge in some affection from his mate ?  Well,  how could he possibly say no ?  A soft hum of amusement sounded from the retired Archon as arms came to rest around the ginger’s waist,  drawing the other onto his lap before taking the free end into his mouth.

   Fingers lightly traced along his Childe’s back,  amber orbs half lidded as they inched closer and closer ...  But as much as part of him  wanted  to simply steal the other’s lips,  Zhongli decided to withdraw with an almost teasing smile on his face all the while.

   “ Hm ?  What’s that look for ?  Were you hoping for something more ? ”

   “ You seem to be spending more and more time here as of late .  I would have thought the battlefield was more your pace . ”  As much as she still enjoyed throwing little jabs toward the Harbinger,  it was clear enough that the Tianquan had softened considerably.  

   He was a strange man indeed  -  someone she already knew thrived in combat,  yet the longer she spent at his side ...  The more she found herself wanting to see more of the intelligence she could see lingering behind dull azure orbs.  A side she felt so few ever had the chance to see.

   A gloved hand came to retrieve a small box from within the compartment of her desk,  opening the packaging inside before offering the sweets inside toward the man so comfortably seated across from her.

   “ Here ,  would you care for some ?  I have a few things left that need to be checked over before being finished for the day ,  if you  really  wished to join me for a proper meal . ”

He blinks tilting his head back face scrunching up. “I love big brother. I wish he wouldn’t travel so much and got stay home more.” He’s putting cookies and some random items in a box to mail to the other. “Last time he sent a letter to Tonia and mentioned how he wanted to go adventuring. I think he should!!  I don’t understand why big brother is doing something he doesn’t want too.” He’s taken Tonia’s letter to  his big brother placed it in the box as well as on from Anthon. The younger tosses a few drawings into the box.   “I just... Think big brother should do what’s best for him! Even...If I never got to see him again, that’d be ok cause he’s happy adventuring!”
