ALRIGHT SUE TIME, don't go for high end brand stuff but don't go for the super-super cheap stuff either. I have found a nice balance between stuff that is good cheap and stuff that I just really need the better quality for. For my face I don't use foundation. I use a cheap camouflage from a store in the Netherlands (Etos) and then I put on BB cream by Nivea which I always buy when its get 2 pay for 1 (normally 10 euros a piece). Those always last me a long time as well.
Now highlighter and contouring, I do with eyeshadows. My eyebrows I fill in a little bit with eyeshadow as well (I have naturally full brows so not too much). Eyeshadows again don't have to be super expensive. I have one neutral palette that was about 10 to 20 pounds. It has lots of browns, some gold and some beiges and a beautiful shimmering white as well as a black. That palette will go with everything I wear and do and will function for highlighting and contouring.
Mascara I invest a bit more into but again, I buy these on sale. You'll find that brands like maybelline and rimmel go on sale A LOT. A lot of those BUY 3 PAY FOR 2 kind of deals. Never buy these things at full price. I REALLY like rimmel mascara lately. Does a great job and it's not too expensive (Bought some for 10 euros a pop while on sale). Eyeliner I go for a cheap store brand one from the Netherlands (Hema, 3 euros a piece).
then finally setting spray. It's your saviour. You can buy it at cheap quite easily but this is definitely a worthwhile investment when it comes to make up. But yeah that's just a quick summary if you want some more in depth types and brands I use then just hit me up on tumblr or twitter.
:’) so kind of you Sue. I do have a few things in my mini makeup collection. Mainly a lot of lipsticks. Sigh I wonder if I can find things cheap when I have to have the stuff ready on Wednesday. Yeah I’m definitely not gonna spend too much money and buying during sales is a must. I got 3 bottles of foundation for 60 bucks since it was buy 2 get 1 free, which isn’t too bad if you think about it in the long run. For now, I’m just borrowing a few things here and there until I really know how I’m gonna tackle my face for my performance piece. Lmao I’ll be wasting a lot of makeup ... may or may not be doing something along the lines of the hundred layer challenge
