This Past Week at the O'Connell Center

Not a week goes by without something exciting happening here at the O’Connell Center! Check out what’s been going on this past week (01/24-01/30):

Gymnastics Florida V Georgia

Our Florida Gators win against Georgia with all amazing routines. Amongst there were two 10.0s from Kytra Hunter & Bridget Sloan lead No. 3 Gators to win.

UF Swim Dive V Auburn

Florida Swimming and Diving’s “Senior Day” had a happy ending as they swept our SEC rival Auburn on January 25th.

Men’s Basketball V Tennessee

Our Men’s Basketball continues its winning streak beating Tennessee 67 to 41.

Women’s Basketball 

Our Women beat both Alabama and Auburn

Every Gator contributed at least six points and six logging a double-figure scoring effort in Florida’s 87-69 win against Auburn in front of 3,114 fans in the O’Connell Center on Sunday January 25th.

Sophomore Carlie Needles hit five three-pointers and scored a team-high 16 points to lead the Gators to a 75-67 victory over Alabama on Thursday in the O’Connell Center and presented Amanda Butler with the 175th win of her nine-year head coaching career

Men's Basketball

Our very own Patric Young scored his 1,000th career point versus Savannah State on Sunday, December 29th

Patric Young scored a total of 15 points during the game. He scored six rebound points and made seven out of ten shots to reach his milestone 1,000th point.

The Gators’ 29 Wins

Our 2012-2013 Men’s Basketball team tied for the third most wins in program history (1993-94,1999-2000, 2010-11)

Men’s Basketball Coach Billy Donovan is Named 2013 USA Basketball Co-National Coach of the Year

Under Donovan’s leadership, the USA won just its third title in the past eight FIBA U19 World Championships, beating its opponents by an average margin of 39.6 points per game.

Gators Run Win Streak to Nine in Win Over No. 25 Arkansas

Gators Swim Beats FSU and Three Gators Named SEC Swimmers of the Week

  The third-ranked UF men (5-0, 3-0 SEC) defeated No. 16 FSU (3-1) by a score of 180-118 and the fifth-ranked Florida women (3-2, 2-1 SEC) took down No. 23 FSU (6-2) by a total of 153-147.

Gators Hilda Luthersdottir (Hafnarfjordur, Iceland), junior Carlos Omana (Miami, Fla.) and freshman Mitch D’Arrigo(Rome, Italy) are named SEC Swimmers of the Week.

After winning their first National Team Title last night, the Gator Gymnastics squad kept the ball rolling with 3 individual Titles today! Alaina Johnson (Uneven Bars) and @bridgetsloan (Balance Beam and All-Around) brought home wins for the #Gators Congratulations girls! #uf #gymnastics #florida #universityofflorida #odome #oconnellcenter
