I haven't watched a lot of South Park. Why do you like it? Do you have a favorite set of characters? :D
I first got interested in it through The Stick of Truth because I was impressed by how closely the game resembled the show, and then I started having a more analytical attitude towards the writing in the show. And because I tended to disagree with the creators on certain issues, and frankly didn’t find many of their mean-spirited jokes to be funny, I had a lot to talk about concerning social views and the politics of comedy. It became a central point of debate inside my head and I got a lot of enjoyment out of that.
Oh and I love the characters! My favorite is the dynamic between Cartman and Kyle, and Kenny’s dramatic origin story is just the best. I honestly wish the show was more character driven instead of making them secondary to ‘social satire of the week’ format since there’s a whole town of wasted potential just sitting there. Recently there’s been a cool little episode for the fans called Tweek x Craig but overall the show has gone downhill in newer seasons.
