Loving nerding out over these Odyssey interviews. The whole cast seems genuinely in awe and completely blown away by the scale of it all and Nolan's filmmaking process.
Really can't wait to see it!
The practical effects sound wild. I can't picture how they are going to pull off the pigs or the black sands of hades. The logistics behind it all is sooo fascinating. The amount of planning and coordination it must've taken is mindblowing. Everyone operating at the absolute top of their game.
The Cyclops scene sounds like a standout. Really curious who built the animatronics (maybe Wētā Workshop?)
I like the IMAX and Kodak stories. They're endearing. Chris working with the same Imax engineer for over twenty years, and he and Emma convincing Kodak to keep manufacturing the film stock, which ultimately created a whole new wave of demand. It's a pretty cool bit of filmmaking legacy.
Anyway, these longer interviews are such an antidote to the tiktok crumbs, clips, and reels. Just nice (tome) to nerd out a bit more on the detail and the process.
