OE: New Amateur Radio Law planned in 2014
Bad times for amateur radio in Austria - as Mike, OE3MZC, on the website of the Austrian Amateur Radio Association OEVSV announced that their contact man was a complete surprise informed by the project of the Austrian regulator BMVIT, still to send this year a new amateur radio law through the Austrian Parliament.
Neither the exact and complete text plus notes is prior to the OEVSV nor the envisaged changes are coordinated with the OEVSV.
Serious changes are pertinent to the purpose of the amateur service and the validity of the licenses. Massive undertaking arrangements for the provision of facilities in the emergency and desaster relief be included in the law on the order of the local government.
Many other topics, such as exams, allowed message content and necessary logging functions are provided disadvantageous for the radio amateur, so OE3MZC. The President of the Federation was promised the integration of OEVSV as advocacy at eye level in a personal conversation.

Addendum: "As the Ministry has informed us today is unfortunately a misunderstanding. The first draft was intended only as a starting point for further discussions with the ÖVSV. Through negotiations in the coming weeks with a coordinated advocacy design for AFG to be created. The ÖVSV welcomed the upcoming talks and asks its members by direct interventions in BMVIT to refrain! The president Mike, OE3MZC"
