Okay so I may or may not already be writing this out…

I’ve been thinking about a what if where Troy gets outed while he’s still on the Guardians and with Adrian.

So in my head this is early in the relationship between the two of them. A paparazzi picture of the two of them kissing leaks and blows the fuck up. Now you might be thinking Toronto drops him like hot garbage, but that would be too easy. Since Adrian is an actor this all blows up to much bigger proportions than hockey scandals normally do. With the eyes on them and the honesty good publicity that comes from having a gay player, upper management at Toronto insists on keeping Troy. But that doesn’t mean the team accepts him at all. So the team at large is freezing him out, but management refuses to trade him because his jerseys sell and having him on the team sells more tickets. His dad has cut him off, and his worst secret is out in the open. This is the worst Troy’s life could ever go.

But hey, at least he has Adrian right? They’re sticking together. He can at least be publicly in love. And they are, for a couple of months at least, but they both have busy schedules and Adrian just got cast in a movie he’s gonna be filming for a while. So now Troy is all alone with a team that hates him. And what does a hurt dog do when they’re cornered? They bite.

I picture actually decent hockey players start coming out of the woodwork to try to talk to Troy and give him some support, but he’s snapping at everyone. He doesn’t want anyone to know this and now it’s the first fucking thing out of everyone’s mouth. He gets meaner, maybe he’s not throwing out slurs but he’s making everything personal so nobody fucking talks to him.

Then maybe a picture gets leaked again, and now Troy’s been publicly cheated on… great. Then everything à la Dallas Kent happens and we get to the start of Role Model idk
