otherwise, roman's a little shitbag who loves winding people up, just like daniel. his antagonism could be considered inappropriate flirting here. also he might go to therapy, like in season 1 he says something about his therapist, but he doesn't go to Work On Himself. he just goes to pretend he's working on himself :) and possibly in this case because he likes hannibal's attention.
most of the above is with pre-hannibal's arrest in mind. i'm pretty sure he would be distancing himself in a major way after he hears the news. naturally.

bianca knows a grand slew of useless facts, honestly, having been around for nearly sixty-six years now.
one fact she's learned, through her extensive years of bartending back in the nineties, is the histories of various cocktails. she knows where certain drinks, typically american ones, were created. she knows whom is credited with invented said cocktails, what the original ingredients were, and how to make it properly. ask her to make a variety of cocktails and not only could she do it, but she'd be happy to do so.

even tho they barely spent any time together in sf, i do think daniel would come to consider them friends after dubai. go partying with him louis. louis go partying with him. please he needs you to. i can see daniel being a very bad influence on louis (or at least trying to be). he knows what it's like to be just out of a long relationship, he knows what will help :)

i think any friendship would mostly be after hannibal's escape/daniel's vamping UNLESS they knew each other as kids (idk how this would work, maybe the age difference is too great for this?) OR i could see their paths crossing as young adults/into middle age - daniel getting dragged to all sorts of Art Things with armand, maybe they meet there idk. or maybe daniel does a stint reviewing theatre and their paths cross post-memory wipe? partners in crime would def be post-vamping. i do think there's probably some lingering revulsion on daniel's part after he interviewed hannibal in prison (something something vampirism is ok but cannibalism isn't lol) but it feels like something he can get past.
idk also maybe they meet somehow through alice. zero thoughts here except maybe she's big into opera, or some sort of professional acquaintance of hannibal's idk. maybe daniel even tried therapy at some point.

i don't think daniel's write up of hannibal would have been particularly rude or personal. i think whatever he published would have been like. well here is what he told me. i have my opinion but i'll leave it up to you, the reader, to make up your own mind. idk how hannibal would feel about that so ^ professional matters antagonism i guess. i do not think he would have mentioned the Biting Incident, beyond brief mention of a fatal incident occuring in the time he was interviewing hannibal.
but also at his core daniel just really likes winding people up and i'm afraid hannibal is not exempt from this.

he’s always detested doctors. psychiatrists are especially distasteful, trying to shuck him like some common oyster. it’s a testament to the quality of lecter’s company that oswald frequently forgets this. how uncouth of hannibal to remind him.
