"You need to be more careful, Princess!"  She is, when serious, a force to be reckoned with, intimidation given form, every angle  sharpened by protective instinct though it only serves as contradiction to the gentle touch she offers, heavy hands swift and soft as they set the other's ankle within a coursing set of bandages. "Earth isn't the same sort of environment as the Moon, you could have gotten seriously injured."

        clearing his throat, straightening his back, michael         attempts to keep his cool as he leans over his work         table, eyes frequently shifting between the potion         brewing and the girl that had just walked into the shop.

 This time it takes him until he’s finished explaining  the math problem before he’s aware the comfortable  weight leaning heavily against his arm and knows  without having to look that she’s fallen asleep again.  A small smile curls the corners of his mouth as he  indulges in a moment of pure selfish impulse and  relaxes against her, taking her hand into his to press  a soft kiss against her knuckles.  

 Just this once he’ll let this slide and wait until she  wakes.

the movie is one of my favourites, but i had never gotten around to reading the books. this past semester i took a children's literature course and we ended up reading one of diana's other books so now i definitely want to read howl's moving castle. uwu
