hc + family
what family —- ? most of his family, immediately speaking--- is PROBABLY dead. he was the oldest of four kids, so. i mean, he's 99, there's a chance that a sibling or two, might be still hanging around, some-wheres, but he has no idea who they are, or where they would be. && the closest thing to family that he has right now, is steve, and he doesn't even know how to handle THAT, so. he still doesn't trust steve, fully. might not for a long time, the guy is kind of a headcase, at the moment, and the last thing he needs is for someone to crowd him with some 'i'm here to help you bullshit', because that's only going to have an ill-effect that nobody wants or needs.

don’t tell her shit it’s a fucking TRAP
Archangels had seldom few things to worry about, whether or not they stood in the grace of God, their age alone battered away most threats. Once beautiful plumage had been rendered to ash, uglied, tattered - a severance from the sanctified word of their Father, Creator. Raphael saw few of his brethren since his decision to leave, weary of wars and wayward of the Plan that drove many angels to violence & chaos, fighting in the name of ABSENCE; the silence deafening to the wide open ears of those closest to His whispers.
"Halaliel?" His inquiry was stained in concern, green irises watchful of the (former) angel before him; where her Grace had been so pure, Humanity had diluted it - mortality dulled her light; much as it had his own. That gnawing weakness, felled by mockery. Rampant in the scourge of Lucifer's outbreak, the creation which he had cradled so close was all but decimated, the virus sweeping over like a plague. Dirtied, retched, paranoid - the former third eldest son kept a maintained distance; his failures clinging to his conscience, though little insight to his weighted burden seeped through the mask he kept placated for posterity sake. "I was lead to believe you had been killed."

“Hello Halaliel.” God said quietly, watching her.

“I could smell you coming from a mile off.”
Lips set in a hard line, fingers gripping the warm blade that would be the creature’s undoing. One more step and the demon would rip into her, taking her apart from the inside out. Meg wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, and pulling on a few feet of organs was not an unfamiliar action. Teeth bared in warning, like the hell hounds she had once whistled to her side. “Go on, try me.”

“Would you like an apple? They’re free!”
One of the best parts of having extensive grounds behind the mansion house was the broad variety of plants. A few of the trees had borne plump apples. After saving some for herself and her guests, she had gone to give the rest of them away. It was a yearly activity for her, one that the people of the nearby towns always enjoyed. Now she stood extending a fresh apple to this passerby woman.
3. If given a choice between saving the life of one person, or saving the life of many, what would they choose? How would they feel about it?

i assume this is a choice between saving the life of one person important to the muse versus saving many lives – otherwise it seems a little obvious which would be chosen. ella is a very selfish person, so she would likely want to save the one versus the many, but it does depend strongly on who the other person is. for example if the one person would hate her for picking them over the many, she would likely pick the many. it also depends on the circumstances of the lives in question.
long story short: it depends.
