Dear dad,      It happened again today.                    You’re gonna be so disappointed.     I had the urge to give up. To leave it all behind, everything, including Elena. All I really have is Elena.  It’s not fair anymore, I don’t wanna be strong —                     I wanna be the kid who you’d toss the baseball to.                                    The kid who would sneak into the living room when mom                                     was asleep to watch those scary movies with you.                                                        I missed out on a lot of sleep because of you, dad.     And I’m still missing out on those hours, because I miss you. I miss you and I miss mom, and I just want it all back. Everyone leaves me, and it’s not fair —- I don’t wanna be alone.                                                        But, I’m gonna do this. I’m going to survive.                                           I’m gonna fight for Elena, keep her safe.                                                                                                                                                  I’m gonna make you proud, dad. I’m sorry I didn’t say it enough,               but I love you.      ——- Jere
