Sundays were Dustin’s day off and that typically meant he tried to have a night of fun and get out on the town before the workweek started up again. This particular evening, though, he had something a little more special in mind- There was a girl he had his eye on for some time now. After a bad run-in with an ex, he had put it on the backburner and let himself cool off, but he was feeling better today and he wanted to see what he could make out of the evening. Maybe make a surprise of it. They had been friends for some time now- mind, Dustin still hasn’t lived here all that long, but as long as some time could be from the time he moved. With the plan running on a bit of impulse, he grabbed his keys and fled for the door, stopping briefly at Florist Gump to get a bundle of flowers for the girl in particular, picking out what he could remember as a likable choice and smelled decently well enough- bit cheesy, but buttercups did always do the trick. As he made his way down to her home, he found himself knocking at her door. It might be forward, in its own way, not texting before just showing up and asking if she was free tonight, and it was a hint of old-fashioned; then again, Dustin tried to think outside the box, and this was simply a spur of the moment decision. Tonight, he would rather spend an evening with someone else than end up with a bunch of strangers at whatever club he chose to end up at. When it swung open, he grinned immediately, his face lighting up, holding the flowers behind his back before producing them and dipping in a little bow. “These are for you, miss Daisy! You’ll be happy to find they aren’t daisies,” he joked, straightening and fixing his bowtie subconsciously, softening to a genuine smile. “So, uh, I was free tonight and I have nothing to do- I was wondering if... I could, you know... take you on a date? Like- a date date. Because I like you and mushy stuff and- well- you know- I have somewhere nice in mind, if you’re available? Nothing fancy, I swear.”
