"When did I even sign up for that?" It was a rhetorical question, even Sanzo knew it. But that didn't mean he was ready to admit to it and accept the many responsibilities he'd taken up on the moment he'd released that noisy monkey from its cage.
Where was Hakkai when he was needed, anyway?
"... Don't answer that." He grumbled, putting down the newspaper with a heavy sigh. A grumpy violet stare finally pointed at Goku, and lingered in silence while the monk caught up with the present.
"... What did you say you wanted to do, again?"
Had Sanzo just been caught getting annoyed without even really listening to what Goku had said to begin with? Absolutely.
Shouta may have never had him as a student personally, but there's no way he wouldn't know about Tamaki Amajiki - part of UA's oft-named Big Three.
He's part of that group for good reason. As far as Shouta's aware, the kid is good - with a strong quirk, a sharp mind, and the intelligence and technique necessary to use both. He doesn't have any doubt in those observations, either; especially since he's seen him in action himself on more on a few occasions.
But what stands out just as much as his skill... is his personality. They're all a little eccentric, the Big Three, as heroes and hero students often are... but Tamaki in particular seems to have a disposition that doesn't match his reputation at all. Firstly - he's got an anxious streak a mile wide; one that never seems to let up, in fact. It seems like everything and anything is capable of making him nervous... and that anxiety often makes him come across as rather gloomy, which can lead into him fading into the background compared to that bright and sunny friend of his, Togata.
No - Tamaki seems like someone much more accustomed, in some ways, to the shadows. Still... if he's honest, Shouta's always, maybe unintentionally, avoided the kid - at least to some extent. It's not out of any kind of dislike of him... in fact, if he lets himself admit it, he honestly reminds Shouta a bit of himself back when he was still a student in UA. There's plenty of differences between them, of course, but... thinking about it brings back all sorts of memories of those days... both the good and bad; equally hard to avoid.
Instead, it's just that he doesn't trust himself to be who's best for him. Shouta knows himself well - he's blunt, critical, and intimidating when it comes to how he's seen by most students and civilians. Those traits just don't seem like they'd mix well with Tamaki's nature. The kid needs someone who'll build up his confidence, not make him feel worse - and while, yes, Shouta is someone who tries to do that with his students, it's not a skill of his he's confident in, especially when he compares himself to the other teachers here at UA.
But in the end... Tamaki is still a hero student. And Shouta is still a teacher. If he's having trouble.... there's no way Shouta can just ignore him and be on his way.
"Amajiki? Do you need something?" Shouta asks gruffly - hoping he doesn't sound too obviously exhausted. "I've got a moment to spare... let me just put this away."

THERE IS A PRACTICED QUALITY to how he handles the injured hand. Even as spectral blues rise to acknowledge Tamaki's words, a quiet and unassuming focus continues to pour into the wound.
"It's still best to disinfect and bind it, though, right?" Bakura hazards not a rebuttal in this state -- after all, who is he to decide what constitutes 'that bad'? "I'm only sorry Recovery Girl isn't around." He returns his eyes to the wound, now finally disinfected and ready for wrapping. "She must've memorized all of your faces by now, huh? ... The hero students, I mean."

He was so scared - so scared the order would find them again. That the Millennium Earl would track him down - scared that they would both lose this fragile peace they were trying so hard to run away to protect. The first real taste of freedom either of them has ever had. Their lives have been nothing but suffering and pain due to those who dared play God. It wouldn't be surprising that they wouldn't let their precious weapons escape so easily.
Despite all of that, Alma was more so afraid to loose him than anything else. Yu Kanda - the person he's tried to protect since those fragile shattered memories of their past life returned. Having been afraid that if he found out that it was him he was looking for this entire time, he would be disappointed. Thank the heavens that hadn't been the case - that they had this second chance stolen on borrowed time.
Alma knew better than anyone else he didn't have much left in him. Their regenerative abilities would eventually run out and he was lucky if he had another dozen left in him at most. Being purified of the akuma properties in his body had done a number on those abilities - but at least he was free. Free to feel, love, hate, and cry. To walk this path with Kanda as they escape to their future. A chance given to them by one Allen Walker.

A smile graced her gentle features as the familiar figure that brought her comfort came into her gaze. no matter how old they would become she always felt that warm comfort fill her chest and spread throughout her entire person. her brother was always a safe space for her and just how her face lit up catching a glimpse of him reiterated that.
" brother! " her voice called out as she quickened her pace to reach where her brother was, her eyes sparkling like that of a child's on their birthday. " i was planning on surprising you but it looks like i kind of ruined that plan. " there was her angelic laugh finding humour in her own excitement and impulses being the common thread that ruined every plan at surprise she'd ever had. " would you hold out your hand for me? i am most certain you will enjoy this. "
