Louis regards Will coolly.

This offer is not foreign to either of them. He's offered to let Will into his fold, and there had been a time where Louis actually believed Will may fall in line. It hadn't taken Louis long to realise the flimsy trust he had was because of the love he had for that young boy in the village of the Elda.

It's the first time Will offers, though. Despite everything, Will wants to trust Louis.

It's obvious why, as Louis takes in the altered form of his most bitter rival. Silver hair and blue eyes: it's obvious who Will had been all along.

"Everything I did," Louis says slowly, his tone pure steel, "I did for you. You, who were proclaimed dead." And Louis had been blamed for it - as if he ever could. Now, knowing who Will is, he wonders if he can kill him. He wonders if he could take that final step into madness.

Had he not done all of this for the prince who stands before him? Is there any point in it now?

"If you will give all that you are, then join me instead. I meant it when I told you that we could rule together, and I've yet to lie to you." Were Louis a weaker man, perhaps he would have begged. This is as close to begging as he allows himself.
